Stayed with family over the May bank holiday and I loved Cemaes Bay. The locals are so friendly and helpful. There are few shops and restaurants in the area so don't go expecting too much on the entertainment front but this adds to the charm of the place.. The Harbour restaurant got very busy on Saturday night. If you like walking you will appreciate the coastal route. You can walk for miles with spectacular views. I would recommend Ceamas Bay for its charm, away from the crowds.and absence of commercialism.

What a lovely place, basic rooms, but very clean and tidy. The owner and his wife were really friendly and helpful as were all the staff.

They'd only had the place since May 2007 - so ignore any reviews prior to that mentioning loud music - they do have live music - but discreet (good music) and you can’t hear it from the bedrooms.

The room had a lovely large balcony overlooking the bay, beach and small harbour with pretty little boats. The balcony was a bit tired but who looks at the floor tiles when the sunset and views are so stunning. Also I believe this is on the list of things being refurbished.

Quiet, sleepy, friendly village, this bar, hotel, bistro seems to be the heart of the community, with locals 'dressed for dinner' in the lounge bar or just casual in the public bar/Games room. If you want to eat - BOOK, it was very popular indeed.

The food was brilliant, a good selection of fresh fish, lamb, steak and vegetarian options all at reasonable prices, well presented and well cooked. The bar was very competatively priced indeed with impeccable service again. Trendy bar area, leather sofas, neutral decor, afternoon/ evening suntrap of a terrace at the front overlooking the bay. Bar menu was also very good and well priced.

The Breakfast was ok, with a large selection of cereal and cooked items - not the best sausages but the bacon and black pudding were very nice and served with a smile and a selection of newspapers.

This place is very dog friendly too; the rooms aren’t massive so not ideal for a family with lots of dogs, but ours was very happy here. They don’t mind you leaving your dog in your room (obviously not allowed in the restaurant),

Only drawback for couples: was twin beds in some rooms - easily rectified - bring a super-king-size sheet and push them together - we did - very comfortable it was too. Also being looked at by owners I believe.

I will definitely be going back here, and definitely will recommend it to friends and take friends with us next time.

'No Frills' in the bedrooms but all the luxury and views of a 4 star in the bar/ restaurant and service wise.

  • Liked — the superb service, dog freindly, great views, brilliant restaurant cheap bar
  • Disliked — twin beds in some rooms

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from spending a lovely Easter weekend at the Harbour Hotel. We found out that the hotel was taken over last May and the new owners have done a great job renovating it. We stayed in a harbour view room which was amazing, the room was very clean and had a lovely bathroom. On the Saturday night we dined in the restaurant, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a relaxing weekend away at a very reasonable price. I think we will definitely be returning in the future!!

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and we were allocated the infamous Room 18. This is a large room, dated decor and bathroom, but basically OK. Unfortunately it is situated directly above the 'function room'. When we checked in all was quiet, but when we returned mid-evening the noise in room 18 was horrendous. The party was in full swing and the noise level upstairs was barely lower than the in the pary itself. This is not an exaggeration. You could hear every word of conversations in the room below - even above the very loud music. The floor was bouncing and there was no way anyone could sleep in there until the music stopped in the early hours. We complained and were told the hotel was full. A lot of the guests were in the party below and luckily one kind couple swapped rooms with us so we could sleep in a quiet room. The hotel should have warned us of the party when we booked, or at least checked if we were involved with the party so they could allocate us a different room. Our new room was OK, and although you could still hear the music a little we did manage to get some sleep. My advice would be not to risk it and to stay elsewhere.
