“Superb - best B&B we have ever stayed in”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2013

The reviews are right, this is a fantastic B&B. The house is beautiful, and the rooms very large and comfortable. The two rooms at the front have wonderful views over the Menai Straight to Snowdonia. These rooms have panelled walls and are beautifully decorated, complete with fresh flowers on the windowsills. The bathrooms are very large, although the larger room only has a small shower (as well as a bath). The smaller room has a great shower but no bath.

Tea and coffee (fresh ground) along with fresh milk and biscuits (really nice ones) are provided in the rooms.

Cleifiog is very well run and no detail is missed. The breakfast is excellent - fresh orange juice and fruit, and a great cooked breakfast. Gill, the owner, was also very helpful when we arrived late on the first night (after a long list of problems on the journey!) and made sure we had a booking in a local restaurant (Pier House Bistro, also recommended).

I hope we'll be back!

Stayed here on the last night of a three day cycle trip and it was agreed by all that it was the best B&B we had stayed in over three years of cycling in Wales, Scotland and England. Our weary legs enjoyed a warm welcome from the owners who were keen to chat with us and find out about our trip. Fresh milk was provided on arrival so we could have a cup of tea, along with biscuits and cookies! The rooms are large and well furnished, with comfy beds and sofas and good bathroom facilities. We all tucked into a fantastic cooked breakfast in the morning as well. Would advise anyone staying in Beaumaris to stay here.

We stayed at Ceifiog B&B last week for only one night following checking out of another B& B which had been an horrendous experience.
We were so lucky to find Cleifiog ,everything about the place is wonderful the view across the Menai Straits is stunning ,the house is beautiful and everyone we met, both the owners Gill and Laurie and Mags and their little team were friendly and welcoming.
The rooms are stylish and well equiped with everything you could need ie lovely well supplied tea and coffee tray with cookies/shortbread and fresh milk supplied in a vacuum flask.
The breakfast was excellant , good choice and well cooked the only point to make is they have a communal breakfast table this I know is not to everyones taste.
All in all a great find and highly recommended.

If you plan to visit Anglesey, then Cleifiog is an ideal base. The house overlooks the Menai Straits, the rooms are beautifully presented with all the small touches like shortbread biscuits and cookies, plenty of tea and coffee making materials and fresh milk in a vacuum flask to avoid the UHT blues ! We stayed in the Tapestry Room and even had our own small kitchenette to boil the kettle etc. Cleifiog is located at the West End of Beaumaris within a 10 minute walk of the town centre with a few pub and restaurant options. The breakfast was served at a communal table which was really great as we had a chance to chat to other guests who were equally well impressed with the facilities. There was a range of fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit and then croissant, pain au chocolat and other bread options for toasting. Cooked breakfasts were also excellent with bacon, sausage, tomatoes, eggs the way you like them, mushrooms etc. All in all a great find and a place that we would highly recommend to other travellers to Anglesey and North Wales in general.

Im normally more for going abroad and spending a lot of money just on a flight. Well no longer will I be making that stupid mistake ! I can honestly say i didnt realise how beautiful north wales really was. There is so much to see and do ! I would advise anyone to go especially familys and couples. The B&B we stayed in was very luxourious and worth every penny. Everyone was polite , friendly and easy to get along with. The scenary was beautiful and breathe taking. We stayed in the Tapestry Room , it was beautiful wood pannelling a comfy couch and bed , and an incredible view ! The weather was lovely and i was wrong thinking there aren't any exquisite places in england. I would 100% recommmend this B&B and the location as everything was perfect.

Just returned from a three night stay at the Cleifiog and would be quite happy to return for another stay....and probably will do so.....First time in this part of Wales and this is an excellent base for visiting the area and the harbour side town of Beaumaris is very picturesque with a very relaxed and welcoming air about it. Would also recommend visits to Red Wharf Bay, and all around the East and Northern bays. On the mainland, Caernarfon town and the Castle are worth a trip as is Portmeirion. At Cleifiog Gill Beevers runs a lovely place, with a lovely smile and attitude to her visitors and is a very welcoming and helpful host. The house is very interesting with excellent rooms, excellent choice of fresh food for breakfast as well as some nice touches such as the Top Quality hospitality tray. Fresh milk is left in thermos flasks for use with the fresh ground coffee in your room.....No plastic "corporate" job lot sachets here....and the biscuits are.....mmmmmmmm_more than just a token gesture. Which all adds up to give a "Bespoke" feel about the place and makes your stay so much more enjoyable than a run of the mill hotel. I guess there is no such thing as perfection but this comes close to it....any faults would be so minor that it would not be worth a mention....definitely recommend this B&B and the area too.

My wife and I stayed with Gill, at Cleifiog, for 2 nights, on June 2nd. What a find!. The house overlooks the Menai straits and in the wonderful weather , it was exquisite. We stayed in the Tapestry Room--beautiful, with wood panelling, an excellent couch and a view to die for!!
Gill is an excellent host, providing everything you could wish for. Her breakfasts are excellent--too good! warm croissants a very nice touch. I thoroughly recommend this bed and breakfast for a stay in the pretty village of Beaumaris.

Room Tip: The Tapestry room is excellent, with 4 windows overlooking the Menai Straits
