We found the Bishopgate through trip advisor as we needed somewhere to eat after being put off by the poor service at the hotel where we were staying. Fantastic choice, we had the fillet of beef which was cooked to perfection for each of our tastes. We then decided to share the chocolate brownie with white chocolate ice cream - big mistake! It was phenomenal and we were fighting over the last bites! There is a lovely cosy atmosphere and friendly staff, we wished we were staying there and next time will ring direct rather than rely on the Internet.

I am currently in the process of purchasing a second home in the beautifull historical town of beaumaris.
We decided to spend a night in beaumaris to 'get the feel' of the town before finally commiting to the purchase. If the food and freindliness of service is half as good as the Bishopsgate House in the rest of the local establishments I will be more than happy here!
We were made to feel very welcome, the rib eyed steak was excellent and the breakfast the perfect start to the day.The hotel (as with most in this area), is charming and old so do not expect modern Hilton or Ramada! If you like character, good food and a huge welcome then stay here!

Hazel,
We may not be staying in the hotel when we get our new home; but we will certainly be eating there on a regular basis!

My Daughter and I stayed for 1 night in the Bishopsgate House Hotel on our way to Holyhead and I have to say we really enjoyed our stay and were sorry we were not staying longer. The room was very comfortable and warm wehn we arrived and the beds were so comfortable we almost missed breakfast! We had a relaxing drink in the lounge before dinner that night and it was an excellent meal. In general there is a great atmosphere in this hotel and we will definitely be back and will recommend it to friends. Also the Castle in Beaumaris looks spectacular but unfortunately we didn't have the time to visit but we will the next time.

Just returned from a four night wonderful stay at the bishopgate house hotel.
The staff are very warm and frendly and nothing is to much trouble.
Rooms are very comfortable and a good size will certainly return.
Never got chance to thank you for the cottage pie, (thanks Hazel)

We stayed at Bishopsgate House Hotel for over three months when we where having our house done up as the house we where living in was sold quicker than we thought and we where suddenly homeless. I phoned Hazel at short notice to ask if we could stay, the answer was yes without hesitation. The bedroom was excellent and the food was wonderful. The staff are fantastic and very well trained and friendly and we got to know them all over the time we where there very well.
Since then we have used Bishopgate for outside catering, and functions and have always found them excellent. We still go back to eat there it's like our second home.

Our friends booked 2 rooms for a post Christmas weekend break so we knew nothing about the hotel but what a great place it turned out to be. From the moment we arrived to leaving everyone was friendly and welcoming, even the boisterous dog. An early check in was no problem and no extra charge levied. Rooms were very clean and tidy and a decanter of sherry as part of the drinks tray in the room is a first for me. We reported a problem with the hot water in our room but it had already been noticed and resolved in the meantime. Nonetheless our room was immediately checked. A big tick from me... Although they were busy the staff gave us their time and we never felt rushed. Dinner was set up for us in the bar as we didn't want to leave the dog in the bedroom and, quite rightly, he wasn't allowed in the restaurant. However the atmosphere here was nice and cosy and it didn't affect the menu choice or the service and the excellent food lived up to the good reports from the Beaumaris Town FC veterans team in the George & Dragon earlier in the afternoon. After dinner we adjourned to the more comfy Lounge bar to play some board games and were kept suitably refreshed. Breakfast was great and set us up for another day out in the wild weather. We plan to come back to Anglesey again in the early summer for a longer break. Guess where we will be staying???

What an amazing place!
Easy to find and a very warm welcome; our room was lovely - four poster and big bathroom, all spotlessly clean. There was a tray with all the necessaries to make tea/coffee, and biscuits; there was even a decanter of sherry and glasses ! The toiletries in the bathroom were lovely too, with a huge bath and loads of hot water.
We enjoyed a pre dinner drink beside the fire in the lounge, then had dinner in the dining room. The food was excellent. After coffee beside the fire again we retired. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet and warm - this is January with freezing temperatures and snow, so we were pleased to be warm.
Breakfast too was excellent - we had the poached haddock and egg - perfect, with loads of coffee and toast..
We will definitely be returning to Bishopsgate House, and look forward to seeing Beaumaris in the Spring!

Room Tip: We were in room 6 - highly recommended.
