“A Treasure”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

A tradition and a must for my guests coming to Beaumaris for the first time is a visit to The Liverpool Arms for the Macho Lamb. It is excellent value and great quality and most certainly a challenge!

The menu is extensive and recently we enjoyed plaice and chips, beef strogonoff (actually made correctly with delicious fillet steak) and liver, bacon and onions. The house wine is oh so quaffable and I understand the draught beer is exceptional.

The Liverpool Arms as an olde worlde charm that is genuine - it is a local's pub and not a plastic replica of a traditional pub. It is certainly one of Beaumaris's treasures.

“Good for, great price, nice atmosphere.”
Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

The Liverpool Arms is a historic pub/ hotel located on Castle Street, which is the main high street in Beaumaris.

We visited the pub on a Saturday night, and was pleased to see the pun was quite full. There was a great atmosphere and we were lucky to find a table towards the rear of the venue.

The pub is frequented by locals and it was quite nice to hear people speaking in Welsh. When the people on the next table realised that wewere English, they started speaking in English and made recommendation with regards the food.

There was four of us in our party and each of us had something different to eat. Two of us from the normal menu and the other two from the specials board.

I had a steak which was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were crisp not stewed. Somebody else had the Rump Steak in a red wine sauce with Stilton. It had to be one of the largest pieces of steak I have seen served up in this country.

All four of us enjoyed our meals and considering we didn't have starters we had no room left for desert, which was a shame as they looked amazing as well.

The only disappointment was that we discovered this gem on the last day of our visit.

Would certainly recommend this pub.
