Was a bit anxious about this trip as I get sea-sick easily. Very smooth ride out around the island. The live commentary was informative and interesting. Saw lots of different birdlife including puffins.
Learned about the history of Beaumaris and other places along the coastline.
Well worth the cost and great value for money.

excellent value for a 90 minute trip. Best thing is that it is not a recorded tape but a live commentary as you travel along the coast, round puffin island, past the ship wreck, the light house and the numorous features and wildlife and birds on the sea and land. Interesting for all ages from 5 to 90.

Hi David,
it's great to hear you enjoyed our trip. We like to do the live commentary so we can easily point out wildlife when it appears and we think it makes the trip a much more friendly and personal experience. :)
Thanks
Ceri

This was the third attempt to do this trip, in previous years the weather was the winner. This time it was just fine. An easy to understand audio guide was played on board with the captain interrupting to point out things of immediate interest. A thoroughly entertaining hour and a half.Great for families and they even let you take the dog!

The boat is capable of taking up to 60 passengers and 2 crew. Trip time was a total of 1 hour and 25 minutes as the sea was a little choppy. It's about an 11km return trip to and around Puffin Island. Great fun for the kids at the front getting some (quite a bit actually) bow wave splash. Cost was £9 pr adult. The commentary was very informative on the views as we proceeded to the island. The boat slowly circulated the island as close as sea conditions allow to permit viewing of many types of sea birds nesting, preening in the sun or flying. The crew turned the boat frequently to ensure the passengers could see particular bird types, including puffins, and to highlight particular features of interest. A local group of seals provide some close up viewing as they bobbed lazily in the sea. Purpoises are also frequently seen.
The crew were very friendly and offered to show charts and navigation information to anyone interested during the return trip.
We really enjoyed it.
