This place was fabulous, real authentic, and situated in a great place by the docks. The staff were really friendly-when I said that I was doing family research they were able to help.

We started off at the Copper Mine museum which is SUPER good value for money (£2.95 per adult), it was shut when we arrived but the LOVELY knowledgeable gentleman in charge let us in early and talked to us for a good 20 minutes about the history surrounding the area. GREAT!!! The museum itself tries REALLY hard to be fun and interactive, we as two grown ups had fun dressing up and drawing pictures!!!
We then walked up to the sail loft and had tea and cake and it was GORGEOUS!! Reasonably priced too. From here to Parys Mountain which is just breahtaking!!! I would highly reccommend doing all 3 of these things. We spent the whole morning on these 3 activites and had so much fun.

although a good information center the actual remains of the mining at parys mountain really give you the flavor of the desolation that this type of mining does.

whilst not picturesc, it is almost a moonscape, the different colored rocks as well as the heather and gorse give it ethereal quality.

easy walking if you drive up the hill with plenty of parking

nb ........... if you can see the isle of man from the mountain beware of bad weather coming if you do

Well worth visiting this centre set in a gem of a picturesque harbour. The member of staff couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful and was terrifically knowledgeable about the history of the whole island.
