Reasonable quality bar food with expensive prices, atmosphere of a cafe with no character, shame as we had high hopes

Visited the Barn for lunch on Sunday, there was 4 adults and 2 children.
Staff were really nice, attentive yet not bothersome, the food was lovely too. Plenty of veg selection to go with the meat in the carvery. And all told it was a lovely place to be with my family.
Prices were reasonable too. Will go back again if I'm in the area.

Have eaten there last season and this. The quality of food and quantity is excellent. The Barn is great for lunchtime snacks or evening meals. The staff are friendly and accommodating.5 star at economy prices has to be the place to eat in Pwhelli

We have been on numerous occasions to The Barn and always been pleasantly surprised and satisfied. We tend to go on either a Wednesday or Sunday as these are their carvery days. It opens from 11am every day and serves an excellent meal, first class quality. The carveries are excellent with the best range of vegetables ever. . There is a choice of three types of meats with the usual accompanying sauces. The service is always first class. It is a pity that there are never many people in. I think it is a bit tucked away and not advertised, it should be full every night! We return every time we are able to and will continue to do so.

We visited for my birthday 20 december 2013. The restaurant was ours for the night for a party of five!!! What a disappointment, we were hoping for a warm, jovial atmosphere. Well we can make our own entertainment .....The food arrived overall it was the worst food I have eaten since leaving school, all re-heated vegetables, that horrible distinctive taste old veg cooked the day before or early morning and microwaved, which considering we were the ONLY customers all night is a sin, something a chef with any pride would not serve. This was a birthday treat but if I had been paying I would of refused to pay and would not of stayed beyond the 1970s style starters . I had actually suggested the venue and felt rather embarrassed. There are a lot of new restaurants opening in Pwllheli so I suggest The Barn sorts their act out or face the bankruptcy courts, if you are not busy on a Saturday night this close to Christmas you need to look at your selves very closely
