My wife and I have been wanting to visit Portmeirion for years and we are so glad we did. Clough Williams-Ellis was a genius and the village he has designed is just magical. Every where you look there is a superb view and photo opportunity. We spent all day there and probably didnt see all the little details. Make sure you have plenty of batteries and memory cards for your camera. The coffee and the ice cream served in the coffee shop is the best we have had outside of Italy.
We can't wait to return.

Have visited many times over the last 40 years, before marriage, before children, with children and now again without children.

Each time you see something new.

The place seems to have it's own microclimate, never been here when it's raining.

Plants in the garden are a delight with many species in full bloom, Azaleas and Rhododendrons looking particularly good at the moment..

Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food.

We visited Portmeirion over the bank holiday weekend with our 5 year old daughter. It's an amazing place with brilliant views across the estuary, and some spectacular architecture which makes you forget that you're in Wales. There are some nice shops, and plenty of places to eat. Many of the properties are holiday rentals, which is certainly unique, but I wouldn't like to stay there with all the visitors around each day. I would advise a visit on a sunny day, when I'm sure it's at it's best.

Visited Portmerion and stayed for just one night. Our accommodation was in Anchor and we were delighted with all aspects of the suite. We booked amy evening meal in the restaurant. The food was excellent. My request for a gluten free diet was no problem. The only thing I could suggest for improvement is for the restaurant to have gluten free biscuits to serve with cheese and gluten free biscuits in the room when they know the occupant has requested a gluten free diet.
