We stayed at the Portmeirion Hotel but decided to eat at the Castell Deudraeth.
The restaurant was very nice, the food and service were supurb.
I had the steak and my wife the Baked Cod, both meals were well presented and very tasty.
We will definately return some day.

Visited castle for lunch found meal to be too much like a cafe with menu about same we used to vist quite regularly were. A bit shocked the castle used to be the place to be we're you would feel specialy treated to food that was cooked good and by top chefs there was nothing on menu to write home about shame really. Castle deserves beta this is a top venue totally. Spoilt if staff want to keep open then they should rethink menu and the status of this wonderfull building

We stayed at Castell Deudraeth for three nights and had breakfast and dinner there rather than at the hotel. The food is excellent; beautifully cooked and presented. There's a good selection for breakfast and if you don't fancy the full Welsh breakfast ( which really sets you up for the day) then try the natural oak smoked haddock with poached egg...delicious. The service is impeccable and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They are friendly and efficient. I cannot wait for our next visit. (Already booked for next year! )
Very highly recommended.
