Came across the bridge accidentally, due to my sat nav taking me that way (shortest route), but it was a very pleasant mistake. Quaint, wooden bridge , small toll, for a short cut from dolgellau to Barmouth.
Great photo opportunities and wonderful pub (GeorgeIII) overlooking the estuary and bridge.

Living in Tywyn we often have a drive into Barmouth for something to eat and a bit of shopping.
We normally take the short cut over the toll bridge at 70p it's worth going over and taking in the views. Must say take it steady going the bridge its made from railway sleepers so a bit bumpy, but good to give the suspension a work out.
The owners are really pleasant and often have a chat with them. The pub next to the bridge is a good place just to sit outside with a pint and something to eat.

This short cut from Dolgellau to Barmouth is well worth the 70p it costs to go across. The toll staff were all friendly and it is a beautiful short cut across the upper reaches of the Mawddach estuary with fabulous views. Lovely to see the Black Welsh cattle grazing the salt marshes.

It’s good to see the old Toll Bridge still exists and at one end are the remains of the old Railway Station, signal box, the line itself and one of the old signals. It’s a pity there’s still a charge to cross it !

I remember over 60 years ago crossing this toll bridge with my parents, today crossing it I swear the bridge has not changed, just the toll booth collecting you 0.70 pence to cross, what a bargain!
Well worth a crossing just for fun....
