What a wonderful place in an outstanding location. This was our first visit back for about ten years and we have been left wondering how we had managed to overlook the appeal of Penmaenuchaf Hall for so long. We won't make the same mistake again and have booked another trip for the Spring.
We were warmly greeted on arrival and enjoyed a very welcome cream tea and mulled wine which were both delicious. Our room, which was the dog friendly one, was perfect and it was convenient to be able to take our dog out for a little exercise through a discreet exit.
The hotel is very atmospheric, beautifully decorated and furnished. Despite it being apparently fairly close to fully occupied one had the sense of being among just a handful of guests.
We chose to eat from the A la Carte menu which proved a little disappointing when compared with our previous experiences. Breakfast was great.
I read reviews that suggest that Pen Hall is over priced. It isn't the cheapest but my own experience of similar hotels is that they fail to deliver the same guarantee of homely relaxation and peace.More
