Had a very good luncheon here. Food.freshly cooked and tasty. We did have to wait awhile but we were quite a large party. Would definitely go again.

“Delicious food in a lovely old country pub”
Reviewed May 18, 2014

Visited wonderful Trellech, with its holy well, church, monoliths, tump and medieval site excavations; then called at the Lion inn, and enjoyed wonderful food and hospitality. We loved the individual character of this pub and can’t wait to go back there. Do make sure you’re hungry as the portions are ample as well as delicious - thirsty too as the ale is excellent.

“A special saturday lunch”
Reviewed May 7, 2014

Wife and I called in "on spec" and had lunch. Log fires, warm welcome from landlady and good local ales. Service from bar staff was excellent but by no means as superb as the food we were presented with. We had different meals (wife is a v. hard to please veggie) and found them faultless. Quality of food matched the presentation. Will be going back as often as we can.
A real jewel of a place - one refreshing aspect is the lack of one arm bandits, juke box, tv's and other distracting rubbish. Congratulations for running a proper pub!! The Trellech villagers are indeed lucky people.

“Lovely little place”

A super old pub. Warm and cosy atmosphere. Good food and good real ales. The bar staff and the locals are really friendly and the owner, Debbie is a fab chef. I'll be back this year

“An authentic oldy worldy pub”

You always get a warm welcome from Debbie and her staff. The real ales are superbly kept and there is an amazing menu to choose from. Many dishes are sourced locally. I would highly recommend a visit. The food is fab.
