Stayed here B&B June 6 - 9 and it couldn't have been wetter. We were on a walking holiday and they were very understanding and helpful with our very wet waterproofs giving us somewhere to hang them up to dry.
The food in the restaurant is fabulous and the breakfast filling.
In walking distance of the town, very useful if you have forgotten something or you want to pick up food for a picnic.

We stayed one night while walking Offas Dyke Path at this bistro/B&B, which is well located right in the middle of town on the pedestrian Church Street. Steve was very helpful both in speedy responses to prior emails and in person, assisting us locating where we could replace some equipment we had forgotten to bring. Room was modest in size but clean with nice ensuite, TV, tea and coffee making etc. There is plenty of choice here for an evening meal – either in the bistro or at nearby pubs.

I stayed here in June 2009 with a friend, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The owner is very relaxed and friendly. As Prego is in the town centre and I was staying on Friday and Saturday nights, I thought it might be a little noisy, but no problems. The room was spacious and comfortable, very reasonably priced, and the food in the restaurant was very good. The breakfasts were generous too. I am staying again soon and taking my family with me. Looking forward to the visit.

Room Tip: The top two are secluded and quiet, but you need to be able to climb the stairs, they are not for an...

We stayed one night at Bistro Prego. Again, we chose off the internet, with no knowledge of the area and what a good choice it turned out to be.
Our room was more spacious than I thought it would be. The decor is simple, the room is very clean and the ensuite bathroom was quite large. Very good value for money,
There is a public carpark at the rear of the building for easy parking. We arrived to the main street of Monmouth, spotting Church Street, we were able to leave the car for a short time and walk to Bistro Prego to check in. We could then drive around the block to the carpark and use the rear entrance to get to our room.

We went downstairs to the restaurant for our evening meal. What a great choice. A great menu with plenty of choice. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were very happy to enjoy an NZ Sav.

Breakfast was also served in the restaurant. Plenty of choice and your hot choice cooked to order. Very satisfying breakfast, Service good too.

We would certainly return and happily recommend Bistro Prego. Lcation is a bonus too, set in a lovely traffic free street, filled with pretty shops. Monmouth was a delight.

We stayed here for one night on friday 13th april, but no horrors here!!
We found the place friendly and relaxing and the facilities fine.
Our room no 7 was at the top of the building so maybe not so good for the less mobile just because of the stairs up to the room but no probs for the other rooms.
The room was in good order with bath, shower, tv, tea /coffee making facilities and at £60 per room per night we thought this was excellent value.
Parking is around the back of the bistro, it is a pay and display and FREE from 5pm to 9am.
The place is in a pedestrian area so no traffic noise.
Beds were comfy and we both had a good nights sleep.
The room was of a fine size , clean with plenty of space for clothes.
We ate at the restaurant for dinner and the food was delicious, we both had prawn, garlic and chilli linguine for starters and sirloin steak for main.
The chef or chef's here are of a VERY high standard and clearly know their stuff.
The service at breakfast was faultless, quick and lovely, hot food, hot plate, full stomach :-)

All in all a very pleasant stay and would heartily reccommend and we will be back next time we're in the area.

A clean an comfortable room for the price in a nice quiet location with parking nearby. All the staff I met were very kind and helpful. They even kindly arranged for me to have breakfast outside if the normal hours to suit my working day. The breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from.

If you are also just after somewhere for dinner come here!!!!! A lovely menu and the food is amazing. The bistro is well worth a visit for both dinner and accommodation. I'll be visiting the area every few months and will definately be re booking.

After trying many large and small hotels in South Wales on regular business trips, I now stay here when ever possible. Really good quality food, cooked well by someone who loves food and knows what they are doing, is my priority and they have never let me down. The rooms are comfortable and adequately equipped. Clean white sheets, pillows and towels, hot showers. Good breakfast.

In addition, Monmouth is an interesting town and well positioned for the Wye valley and Forest of Dean. I have returned with my wife to Prego for a short recreational break and would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: All the rooms are of a similar clean, well maintained and equiped standard. Larger rooms are availab...
