“A very friendly place and a great find”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

The restaurant was busy and it was well into the evening when we arrived, after looking around the town for somewhere to eat. We were made very welcome. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was good. The food was served quickly but we didn't feel at all rushed. The owner takes an obvious pride and pleasure in running the restaurant. We enjoyed a freshly cooked and tasty meal.
Well worth another visit and next time we'll be sure to book having seen how busy the place can get.

“Okay visit...”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Visited here on a Saturday evening on one of the 'Thai Nights' seated quickly, drinks order taken (soft drinks - bring your own wine), no menu's given for quite a while (others that arrived after us were being seen too!) and only bought to us when one of the staff tried to take our food order!
We had Thai fish cakes and a mixed starter - fish cakes very large and flavoursome but not what we expected, mixed starter okay, although it came with a piece of toast with no crusts?? Main meals - I had chicken in a sweet and sour sauce - not as flavoursome as I expected - far too much sauce. BF had beef in oyster sauce - much tastier, still lots of sauce. Fried rice and noodles had no flavour at all :-(
It was an okay visit but in our opinion the food was lacking in real fresh flavour.

“Lovely warm welcome”
Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

We popped in here with some friends on a miserable, wet and windy Saturday morning just to get out of the cold and what a lovely, warm welcome we got. Admittedly, we were the only customers there on such a horrible day but we were greeted like old friends and offered a table by the fire. Having not long had breakfast, we only wanted a drink but the menu looked fantastic and, if we had been staying in Monmouth, we would definitely gone back to eat as the small but interesting Thai menu looked great and was really good value. The tea and coffees that we did have were lovely and the service was friendly and efficient. Well worth a vist.

“big surprise”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

Oh wow! I only found this place as we were looking for a thai takeaway that my husband could pick up on his way home. I almost cancelled it as the guy on the phone didn't sound too confident and the menu was limited. I'm so glad I didn't - the takeaway was superb, prompting us to book for Valentine's evening to dine in. The delightful lady greeted us like old friends and carefully explained the menu to us. You take your own booze so this keeps the cost down and the hostess took away my wine to chill it and kept removing it to keep it cold! I can't wait to go again and take the family. Excellent.

“Hidden gem!”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

We only found this place through reading reviews on Trip Advisor as it is tucked away in a little courtyard. We were not disappointed. The atmoshere was buzzy and the place was heaving! By day it is a cafe and on Friday and Saturday night it becomes a Thai restaurant (bring your own booze). The menu isn't vast but the food is great and very home cooked. It was obvious that most of the diners were regulars which says all you need to know. Look it up and book in advance as you probably won't get a table otherwise.
