“Fantastic.”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

Great place for walking, well signposted. Lots of shaded areas. Good toilet facilities. Lots of parking. Really enjoyed the walk to the waterfall. Only took us 1 and half hours instead of 2 as suggested. Brilliant place for the family.

“Brilliant”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Riding a mountain bike through this beautiful forest was the highlight of our trip to the UK for our 8 year old son. It is possible to hire bikes for adults and kids, however they only have whole day hires, not by the hour which makes it pricey. I believe it is free if you bring your own bike, but they ask that you pay for parking to cover their costs. As beginners we did the Minortaur trail and it was fabulous. There were switchbacks and small jumps which made it exciting. The trail went through the trees and over bridges. Stunning scenery. Grandparents spent the time waiting for us in the coffee shop and said that the food was good and the staff were very friendly. The buildings were also eco-friendly and blended into the scenery. Highly recommended for a breath of fresh air.

“Great location, but not a day out for pre-schoolers”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

We traveled quite a distance to come to Coed Y Brenin for the day. While the place is great, it's not like other forest parks I've been to that have a fab provision for young children. The play areas are small and both my 17m and 3yo daughters lost interest in it quite quickly. They also have no shade which wasn't great as it was crazy hot we day we visited. The animal puzzle walk is suitable for buggies and was a lovely trail, especially as it gave us some respite from the sun during the heat wave. The place seems to be very set up for cyclists, which is fine, just bear that in mind if you're looking for a day out, walking and playing, with little ones.

So the place is lovely, just not what we were expecting from the literature we'd read.

“Excellent cycling for all cyclists”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

A great cycling centre for all levels of cyclists, although I favour the blue route, although my son does the black. I have done parts of the red route but tend to like the blue better as I have a rigid mountain bike. The cafe serves good food and is reasonably priced.

Overall a good day out.
