“Well-placed and well-run b&b with private annexe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2011

I wanted to take my daughter to see places in Wales that I used to go to. Dwy Olwyn was very well placed, in a quiet location on the outskirts of Dolgellau - easy to get to both coast and forests. The proprietors were friendly helpful and welcoming. We got a separate annexe that meant we had some kitchen facilities and good space and privacy. There was flexibility about arrangements and there was a nice easy relaxed approach. Recommended.

Room Tip: Annexe recommended

The wife and I (senior citizens and somewhat pickey) stayed at B&B's during the 3 wks we spent traveling thru the UK and Ireland. Accomodations at Dwy Olwyn, and Norma's hospitality, were some of the best. We had a great stay in a clean room with a fantastic view. The bathroom was small but very clean and had all the necessities. The location was quiet, convenient and only a short walk into town. And to top it off, breakfast was excellant. We would definately recommend that if you are in the area and looking for great place to stay, check out Dwy Olwyn.

Norma is very hospitable and friendly. The breakfast is very tasty and not greasy at all. Been staying in a seperate 'annex' that has its own shower room and is nice and private. Would recommend this to anyone. Lovely views from the house over the mountains.

My son and I stayed for a weekend and we were made to feel very welcome. The area is spectacular. The accommodation was very clean and tidy, Norma was very helpful and accommodating. Good food, great garden and we'd definitely stay again.

We had a self contained unit which had a double bed plus double bunks. The toilet, shower area was very small but there was a fridge which was a bonus. Didnt think the room was particularly clean and we didnt get asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast, it was just placed before us but other than that it was satisfactory. We were only there one night and any gripes about the place were more than overshadowed by the beautiful surrounding area.

The lady running the B&B was really helpful. She cooks a nice breakfast. The BB is located in a quiet area, close to the village and a Eurospar supermarket that closes at 10pm. Good if you arrive late to the BB.
The room had microwave, fridge, tea&coffe facilities and so on. All very clean.

No complains at all. If so, just beware that the google map location of the B&B is not accurate.
