A beautiful house in an excellent location with lovely views. The room was perfect and we were made to feel at home by Jan & Pete, Food excellent and of a quality that no supermarket can offer. Would highly recommend to anyone as long as there is no clash with our returning.

A grand building with a grand view, this former rectory is a fabulous place to stay. Within a stone's throw of the town centre, it is nonetheless a convenient base from which to venture out into the surrounding countryside. Indeed, there are a few excellent walks - includng the popular Mawddach trail - that can be commenced from the front door. In addition to the great location are the lovely hosts: Jan and Pete being welcoming, warm and helpful. Will definitely return.

A beautiful house turned into a lovely bed and breakfast.

Jan and Pete made us feel so welcome (helped that they used to live in the town we used to live in) Tea on arrival with teacakes - what a treat.

The kingsize room was excellent. Superbly decorated, all of the essential bits and pieces to make you feel 5* and right at home. Wifi, dvd player, bottled water, fresh milk and a great wetroom.

Beautiful views over the valley and a warm house (sadly needed in June 2012)

Breakfast was a treat, with a lovely menu, fresh fruit, all the normal local sourced welsh breakfast options. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs all superbly presented and ever so tasty.

Jan and Pete made us feel so welcome, were friendly, without being intrusive. Recomended a local restaurant for the evening meal and helped us with hints and tips about the area.

We would so highly recommend this wonderful b&b to all we know.

Maybe just an extra chair in our room and a little more water pressure in the shower - but things almost to small to mention.

Room Tip: We chose the king size bedroom, right at the front with probably the best views of the valley

A few days ago we had the good fortune to spend 3 nights at Bryn Mair. It is without doubt one of the best bed and breakfasts, if not THE best, in which we have stayed. We could single out some things for praise - the warmest welcome with tea and cakes, the super-comfortable bed, the gorgeous bathroom, the beautiful rooms and furnishings . . . but the list would be too long as it would have to include everything! If you want to know how to run the perfect B&B and be the perfect hosts, then come to Jan and Pete for lessons! Better still, just give yourself a treat and go and stay at Bryn Mair House. If you can tear yourself away from the house, you will find yourself in the charming town of Dolgellau, surrounding by awesomely beautiful scenery.

We stayed at Bryn Mair over the jubilee weekend and it was a great choice. We wanted somewhere comfortable and of high quality to base ourselves while we explored snowdonia and couldn't have picked a better place. From start to finish, we were made to feel welcome and were given lots of tips for where to go and where to eat. We often had the lounge just to ourselves offering views across the welsh mountains and the standard of accommodation was very high.
If we are back in the area, we would definitely want to return to Bryn Mair.

Bryn Mair house was so comfortable that we could have stayed indoors for our entire stay! But the countryside is so beautiful that we did go out most of the time. We also really enjoyed walking around Dolgellau. Jan and Pete were friendly and helpful and a great source of great information and tips about the area.

We had three nights here in June. We had a large very well furnished room with nice views in this beautiful Georgian house. Pete and Jan made us very welcome from the start with tea and home made cake served on our arrival. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and plenty of bottled water provided, even for us to take out. The breakfasts were excellent, the smoked salmon and scrambled egg could be bettered anywhere!Would have no hesitation in booking it again.
