The accomodation part of the hotel is in need of decorating, carpets in some rooms need to be replaced. We did mention this to the staff and they assured an upgrade was planned this winter. The breakfast and evening meals were very good as expected. We have visited before and may again, looked forward to room upgrades!

We stayed here over the August Bank holiday. The hotel was very well situated close to the beach with beautiful views and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We booked a 3 course evening meal but was a little disappointed with the portion size and service offered. It was slow and a little unorganized. Not enough staff seemed to be a slight problem causing forgetfulness. The room was situated on the front of the hotel and was well presented but the mattress needs changing as it was a little uncomfortable to sleep on the springs made a noise when turning. All in all not a bad place to stay but maybe a little overpriced but I suppose we were paying for the location.

Room Tip: eat somewhere else if you like a good full stomach at the end of a good day out . More your fine din...

We visited this hotel on 23rd April 2013 for my partners birthday. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome from the staff. We had a room with a 4 poster bed with a view over looking the coast, it was perfect.

We decided to eat that evening in the hotel restaurant and had a seat next to the window which had amazing views. The food was to die for!!

We sat that evening in the bar area and chatted to some other guests who said they been going back to that hotel for many years and I can totally understand why.

I have never stayed in a place and thought of every aspect as excellent until I stayed here.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant and will be returning again in the future.

Thank you for making our stay so special.

My husband and I had lunch at the Moelwyn on our day trip to Criccieth. Nestled at the bottom of hill, the restaurant has an amazing view of the the castle and the beaches on both sides of the estuary. Our server even pointed out Harlech castle to us glimmering in the distance. Our orders of fish and chips were to die for, perfect with the mushy peas and the sea breeze was thoroughly invigorating.

We stayed at The Moelwyn for two nights. It's a lovely small hotel, with wonderful food and incredibly helpful staff. It is clear that the young proprietor has a vision of excellent customer service and quality. The views across the bay are stunning and it's a brilliant place to unwind and relax. There's lots to see in this part of North Wales and Criccieth is a good centre for touring. The three course evening meal for £20 is a bargain and shouldn't be missed. We will be going back.

Stayed for 2 nights recently, had a double and twin room, which were clean with comfy beds. Good value for money, especially when you compare to what others charge for similar in the same area and you don't have to pay extra for the sea view. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, cooked to order. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the meal was excellent. Very good varied menu, well cooked and presented. Others have commented that the service may be a little slow, but who wants to be rushed - you are on holiday after all! If you want fast food thrown at you then go to McDonalds or one of those other dreadful fast food places - if you want well cooked and served food in lovely surroundings with a view of the sea go to The Moelwyn.

The food was excellent in particular the homemade chips. The service was very good but. Little bit slow however the waiter knocked 10 percent off as he told us the chips were hand made as the freezer had broken down. I would recommend the Molewyn for lunch and I am confident that the evening meal would be just as good.
