I don't believe that I have ever stopped in a hotel with such high standards of cleanliness and service. And add to that the atmosphere that Julie and her staff create and you finish up with a friendly and enjoyable base from which to explore the many attractions of the area.

Room Tip: There are sea views, but even though our room was at the rear of the property, it still had a pleasa...

Criccieth itself is not much of a place though there are load of good places to eat and the general view from the hotel is excellent. Well room 6 and the lounge anyway. Owners and Staff are more then helpful and Julie can tell you many places to visit.

Room Tip: Room 6 is a must

So many excellent points to this hotel.

Rooms - spacious, clean and well equipped. Each seems to have a unique style. Comfy bed. Our room (no. 7) had a wonderful view of the castle. Bathroom to a high standard.

Breakfast - cooked to order and delicious. Plenty of options of cereal, juice etc.

Staff - extremely friendly and helpful. Made a lovely pot of tea for us on arrival. They were happy to post a mobile phone that we'd left behind!

Location - minutes away from the beach, restaurants, shops and the castle. Being on the main road is not a problem in terms of noise as there is double glazing.

It's also great to have a parking space.

The only problem was there was no one to be found when we were leaving, as we wanted to say our thanks and goodbye! Also meant we had to guess where to leave our keys, although fortunately a big pile of other guests' keys made this obvious.

I'd gladly recommend Glyn-y-Coed to anyone staying in Criccieth.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have a wonderful view of the sea and castle.

This was a lovely, family run place with beautifully decorated rooms, great facilities and very friendly owners and staff. We only stayed one night but would happily have stayed longer. The sea and castle views from the room were lovely - we were given a free upgrade because it was a quiet period just after the Easter bank holiday. Breakfast (locally sourced and delicious!) was only served between 8.15 and 9.15 but it was quite leisurely as the hotel wasn't full. One added bonus was Wilma, a labradoodle puppy, who was a delight.

Stunning views of the castle and the sea. The family room is well equipped for the children to keep them occupied. The guesthouse is in good walking distance to pubs, beach and fantastic ice-cream parlour. The owners are very welcoming. Afternoon tea on arrival in the lounge was a very nice touch. We would definitely stay here again.

We found this Hotel to be a lovely relaxing experience. The room was comfortable and clean. The view was superb. Breakfast was excellent and the owner Julie was delightful and very helpful.
Everything including excellent restaurants and the beach were within easy walking distance.
Parking on site.
You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Worth getting a sea view.

Made the booking via Expedia, paid in full and received confirmation. Two days later the Hotel contacted to say they needed me to cancel my booking as the room had been allocated to another guest prior to my booking (Expedia tell me they are in real-time sync so this cannot happen) and suggested local B&B's as an alternative, despite other room configurations being still available.
In over 40 years of international travel we have never experienced anything remotely approaching this 'guest contempt'
