Our family of five had a fantastic week in this beautiful cottage with spacious gardens based in a tranquil setting.
The cottage was clean and tidy and had everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable.
The log burner was a real treat to put on at the end of the day.
The location was perfect for short drives to local beaches (shallow waters great for young children) and walks in Snowdonia.
Would highly recommend this cottage.
Maureen was very welcoming and provided a lovely welcome pack for our arrival.
We really enjoyed our stay and would do so again.
Probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. Its the kind of cosy place you are happy to stay in come rain or shine. We stayed in and chilled often on sunny days with the green open space arboretum in the photos (believe 2 acres) providing a great outlook from the front room and walled patio area. You are free to wander the arboretum, or walk down to the stream by the lane at leisure.
The cottage is spacious and well renovated but retains a lot of its original character with exposed stone and oak beams. Furnishings are top notch and chosen with great taste. There were only two of us, but we can vouch for the very comfy upstairs king size bed. No toilet downstairs which could be a consideration for some, but otherwise perfect.
The position is very rural amongst farmland, and unbelievably quiet. The nearby lanes are not busy, with very few cars and the odd tractor, feeling safe for walking. We were originally seeking a place in Snowdonia, but actually found the location very central for the national park, coast or Llyn Peninsula. The Snowdonia backdrop can be seen from the nearby lanes but are shielded by trees in the property. The nearby coastal town of Criccieth is a delight with several good restaurants and only a 10-15 min drive away.
Maureen is a great host, very friendly and welcoming and her barn is well separated from the cottage so there are no concerns over privacy. There was also a lovely welcome pack for us including a bottle of wine.
We loved this place so much, we will definitely be back.
My husband and I rented this cottage with our friends, and it was a perfect getaway. I regret we did not stay longer, so will have to just plan another trip there! Hands down, this is the best vacation rental I have stayed in. The cottage is not too far off from great sites to visit. We even made a day trip to Caernarfon from the cottage.
The cottage is LOVELY. It is really very picturesque inside and out - a beautiful restoration job. It is very quiet, and it feels like the best blend of stepping into history with the right modern conveniences. The cottage is very well appointed. There are two cook stoves - an AGA and a range. This was my first encounter with an AGA and I loved it. There is plenty of fridge storage - a small fridge in the kitchen, and a larger fridge in the pantry. The pantry is filled with pots, pans, serving bowls and platters, and a dishwasher as well. The bathroom (located upstairs) is very nice. The shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure.
The evenings got a little chilly in the cottage (during the spring). We used the wood stove in the living room, and I would suggest in the chilly months starting a fire in the late afternoon to warm the house for the evening. This worked well for us. I suggest bringing a good supply of dry logs with you to help the fire along, though there were logs in the cottage to use as well - ours were still a little damp and took a while to get going. There are two bedrooms that have double beds (full) and one room with a single (twin). Great for 2 couples or up to 5 people. We used the extra bed as the place to send the most egregious snorer! Ha!
The cottage has wifi - the signal was not strong enough to do mobile calling over wifi (to avoid international cell charges), but checking emails and hopping online was okay.
The owner, Maureen, is super charming and responsive. She clearly has devoted a lot of heart to this property. I highly recommend you check it out!
We stayed in The Farm Cottage for a weekend in March 2017 and couldn't have been more thrilled with our trip. The house was clean, well equipped for all your needs and was a perfect base for the activities nearby. Maureen and Bob were very helpful with local knowledge and thank you both for a wonderful stay - we hope to return one day!
A lovely, characterful cottage which was very clean and had very comfortable beds. The furnishings and equipment were all very good. The large garden and driveway were ideal and safe for our grandchildren t play on. The owner was very helpful and friendly and had supplied many extras in the form of wine, sweets, flowers and milk on arrival. The cottage is situated in a very quiet location away from it all with lots of wildlife, which was a lovely change as we live in a city on a busy road. It was within easy distance of many of the attractions, especially beaches. We had a really great week. Thank you.

We stayed for a week in this cottage. We were welcomed by Maureen who went through how to use the aga, (which was great to cook with) etc. She kindly left some cookies and a bottle of wine and chocolates for us. The kitchen was well equipped and very nice to cook in. There is a lovely log burner in the living room which we did not need to use but imagine would be lovely when the nights are colder.
Overall a lovely stay. Get out and about to see the magical gorgeous Welsh countryside, so many things to do there. A week just isn't long enough really.
Thank you Maureen for a lovely stay.
