Situated in the unspoiled seaside town of Criccieth, in the shadows of its famous castle, Ardro provides a fully equipped home from home. Whatever your style of holiday Ardro is the perfect base for them. Eating out is no problem, with many good venues within walking distance. There is easy access to all that North Wales has to offer for those days you feel the need to get out and about or you can stay in with a book and take in the views from the window, with the occasional dolphin passing by.
This was our 3rd visit and it doesn't disappoint with familiarity. It has the feel of a well loved and well cared for family home, with many quirky homely touches and the welcome hamper was very much appreciated. Hope to be back for a 4th visit.
This was a return visit to a house and location on which we could depend. The owners present a lovingly cared for family home which is thoughtfully and fully equipped. Comfort and cleanliness go hand in hand. The accommodation is spacious and catered easily for what, in our case, was four generations with each bedroom having its own access to facilities. The courtyard was a sunny spot to enjoy a BBQ.
The area has many attractions whatever the weather: a warm welcome awaits! We recommend Dylans on the front and "42" in the town as well as a wonderful Malay takeaway. A day out for the children? Greenwood Forest Park is a must.
The location was brilliant for all members of the extended family party (ages 4 - 91) Well furnished, clean home from home, plenty of space. Beautiful views especially from top bedroom and lounge. Perfect for watching the dolphins in the bay. Lovely seating area at the front with views of the bay and castle. A mediteranean feel court yard at back with seating, table and barbeque.
Close proximity to the beach and centre of Criccieth where Cadwallerders ice cream parlour is a must. Also Mei's Fusion do excellent take away if you want to stay in.
The owners Jane & Mark are very helpful with suggestions and a welcome pack of goodies. A truly exceptional place to relax and unwind. Thank you.
We stayed in May for a week. Despite having the best summer weather wise in years our week was pretty mixed.
Nevertheless the house was immaculate and huge. This was important as I was staying with my mother, mother in law, husband and two young children. The house had ample bathrooms (3) and enough space I was able to lose myself to quietly read on more than one occasion.
My husband had no problem losing himself fishing from the beach and we visited a local farm with the kids as well as sampling the local chippy (ace) and Chinese, also ace.
The house was directly opposite the beach and so we woke to the most magnificent views of the sea and watched the dolphins twice from the house.
I was so chilled from my holiday it took me a couple of weeks once back at home to get back into the normal routine.
If it’s a throbbing nightlife you’re after you’ll be disappointed, but peace and tranquility with ice cream and chips? Criccieth is the place.
Ardro is a beautiful house with excellent facilities in a wonderful location. Although our stay was over the New Year and the weather was less than kind we still enjoyed the facilities in this well appointed property. Jane was excellent in all communications and is rightly very proud of her holiday home. As with many things pictures sometime don’t do justice but in this case the pictures were spot on and more. Criccieth is a lovely small village which although a few of the coffee shops and pubs and even in the winter their are sufficient places to visit. It is also a great base to explore the North Wales Peninsula. Highly recommended and I imagine even better in the summer months.
Ardo is spacious and welcoming , set in a quiet location with views of tthe castle and to the open sea. With easy access to the beach, coastal walks and the many attractions that Snowdonia has to offer it is ideally situated for an all round family
Holiday. We loved Cricceith which has maintained it’s charm and character without recourse to noisy and ugly seaside paraphernalia such as amusement arcades etc. We would endorse the positive comments about Ardo which have been left by large number of well satisfied previous occupants.
This is the third time we've stayed at Ardro. We love the town which has many quirky shops and great places to eat out (dylans, poachers and Mei's are all great)!!!
The beach is clean and beautiful and right on the doorstep and we can often spot the dolphins and seals from the house. The house is very central to a lot of great days out. We spent a day at black rock sands, visited velocity zip wire, climbed Snowdonia, walked some of the many walking trails around the town and spent days in Snowdon national park. The house is brilliant for having relaxing days with sitting by the sea and being able to swim and kayak right on your doorstep. I'm sure we will be back for a fourth time soon, it is a true home from home.
