“Beatiful and cosy house that has everything you need”

We stayed at Paul's cottage for a week in December. Although we didn't meet him personally, everyhing was prepared perfectly. There's a lot of space for 2 persons, but since there are three bedrooms, it can easily accomodate a whole family. Everything was clean and in very good condition, heating and warm water was working without any problems. The decoration is nice and underlines the historic character of the building. The cottage is located in the middle of Snowdonia National Park, hiking routes are reachable in walking distance. You can see the mountains and the nearby beaches at the same time. The fireplace provided warm and cosy evenings. Dolgellau is reachable within a few minutes where you'll find everything you need: nice little bakeries, supermarkets, good restaurants and cafes. It was a very nice holiday and we can highly recommend both Paul's cottage and the region as a holiday destination!

“Breath of fresh air”
Reviewed November 18, 2017 for a stay in November 2017

We had a smashing week here.

We arrived around tea time, and Paul checked in on us shortly afterwards to see that we were settling in ok, and to ask if we wanted anything. Paul lives next door to the cottage. It was good to know that he was there, he never imposed on us.

The cottage is really comfortable, homely, and cosy, and has a lovely atmosphere. It's been tastefully renovated, and the facilities modernised, but the character hasn't been compromised. The kitchen had everything we needed and the layout has been well considered - what a good idea to have the shoe and coat racks immediately available as you enter. The location is very peaceful and relaxing. So nice to draw back the curtains in the morning to a gorgeous view and the sound of the river. We walked everyday. There's a good variety of easy and more strenuous routes from the cottage, so we enjoyed lots of good fresh air during the day, and quiet nights in resting. The cottage has a good selection of games and dvds, and an even better, diverse, collection of books. We were glad of the log burner for the chillier evenings, but we were never cold despite the temperatures falling. We took our little dog with us and he had a great time too. Despite the cottage feeling secluded and us being unfamiliar with the area, we were content, and felt safe, taking him for a bedtime walk to the nearby wooded area. Talking of dogs, Paul's dog 'Scooby' is s joy, and we looked forward to the welcome we received from him each time we returned to the cottage.

We're looking forward to booking for springtime!

“Wonderful oasis of peace and tranquility ”

I stayed here last week, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The cottage was lovely and cosy, and the log fire definitely an added bonus. The place has a very welcoming feeling, and the owner Paul and his gorgeous dog Scooby were very helpful upon my arrival. The cottage is also perfectly located if you are looking to do lots of walking; there are walks with wonderful views just up the lane, and mountains just a short drive away. Definitely visit Dolgellau also, a gem of a little town (particularly the wine shop and Oggie pasties!). 10/10, will be returning here!

“Lovely holiday cottage in stunning location”
Reviewed July 6, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Had a wonderful stay at Hawddamor, lovely cottage in one of the most beautiful settings I have ever visited. The cottage is located alongside a river with elevated views of the surrounding area. The road up to the cottage is quite steep, we did walk up a few times with the kids and had very few complaints. It is quite rustic in style but has all modern amenities, kitchen is well equipped, plenty of hot water, decent wifi. Paul and Jen were on hand if we needed anything, they provide plenty of information in the cottage on the area, things to do, places to visit, where to eat... There really is so much to do around here, we look forward to visiting again.
