“A little find ”
Reviewed December 1, 2013 via mobile

Visited this tea room after attending a rock festival near Pwllheli. The setting just outside Abersoch is ideal on the route around the llyen peninsula. A cute tea room in a garden centre. Nice and bright decor. Not overpacked with chair and tables. A lovely wood burner in the corner and the mix-matched tables, provide this cafe with an air of shabby-chic. The menu is varied, we only wanted tea and cake. The tea was excellent and the service was quick. The scones and tea cakes came with good portions of jam and cream. All in all, an excellent experience

“Quality food, lovely place”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

I have been visiting abersoch for many years and stay locally to the garden centre in which the cafe is situated. I always head straight to the cafe for breakfast/lunch because the quality of the food is excellent and the portion sizes are more than adequate. A lot of the ingredients are locally produced and hand made which is great to see and the prices are very reasonable. The service has alway been very efficient and the staff work extremely hard. This is most definatly not a 'greasy spoon' convienience cafe, the food is cooked fresh when you order it, personally I think it's the best in the area!

“Disappointed”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

Having visited here numerous times on our annual family visit to Abersoch we were very disappointed with both service and some of the food when we visited in July 2013. Staff did not acknowledge us on arrival - we had to ask other diners to remind us how to get access to a menu (you collect your own from inside). After 10 minutes no staff had approached our table so we decided to order at the counter - we later noticed waitresses were going to tables to take orders. Food was very nice with the exception of the Welsh Rarebit (waitress pronounced Welsh Rabbit!!) which according to my aunt was like rubber. On paying our bill the waitress wasn't very courteous or friendly.

I'm not sure if Petal-a-Pot is under new ownership or if they have decided customer service is no longer a priority. Doubtful a return visit will be on the itinerary for next year :(

“Massive price hike!”

Visited this cafe as we do every year but gob smacked at how much prices have gone up -£15 almost for 3 drinks and 1 piece of cake. Food is always lovely but not family friendly prices anymore sadly.
