“Nice pub, and exactly what you'd expect from Brunning & Price”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

Brunning & Price are opening more and more pubs, and each I have visited has been excellent. The food was good, but not quite excellent, but everything else was excellent. The location is fab, with great views. plenty of garden for children to play in, and inside is also very spacious. I'd definitely return!

“wonderful food wonderful view”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

second visit was not a dissapointment - visiting from west midlands for a family weekend we had been looking forward and had been telling the other members of the group that were coming with us how much we had enjoyed last time. every body agreed the quality and variety of food available was fantastic we all had something different and nothing was left on any ones plates

“Good but could be better!”
Reviewed May 23, 2013 via mobile

Went here as its in the same chain as The Architect in Chester city centre. This gastropub is a very similar design as The Architect which provides for a lovely atmosphere. We had dinner here twice, one Sunday lunch and one weekday dinner. The dinner was lovely but the Sunday lunch was a bit of a let-down, chicken felt like it had just been reheated. Staff were attentive and wine was lovely. Just wish the food was a little bit better, or maybe we just made a bad choice!! On that note would prob visit again, to give it another try!

“Good, but could do better”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

Been here on many occasions for lunch and dinner because of the location near to work. There is a lovely outdoor seating area with fantastic views. The menu is a little expensive but only what can be expected from a Brunning & Price establishment, and is usually matched by the quality of food. Standards have fallen from time to time, but they normally pick up again - service has improved in recent years since a change of management. However, the practice of 'turning-round' tables as quickly as possible to make way for the next customer often comes across as a little rude and can make the customer feel rushed. Also it seems unreasonable to move a party of 15 people having a (quiet) drink on an unreserved table, on the basis that there is a party of two due to arrive for their reserved table nearby.

“Good food but pricey”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

Went on a Friday night, the bar and restaurant being very busy. Due to this was quite a wait at the bar area for initial drinks. Another niggle is the fact you have to wait at the bar to order your food. At a cheap cafe you don't mind this but paying top dollar and you expect at least they come to you! Food though is very good though lamb recommended! Nice atmosphere but if prices were lowered and table service and would be more inclined to return on a regular basis.
