We stayed at the Beaufort Park Hotel during the National Eisteddfod week, the accommodation itself was fine, with most of the staff being very polite and helpful, but the attitude of the manageress on the Saturday night was very very upsetting. After our meal we moved to the bar where we had to listen to the very loud entertainment, and a disco was being held in another room, with music blasting out into the corridor. When the bar entertainment finished, we, as members of a Welsh mixed choir, started singing in welsh, we were told to be quiet immediately by the manageress, although the other guests who were listening gave us resounding cheers. Obviously, there was no welcome for us in a hotel in our own country singing in our own language.

We live a little over a mile from this hotel so when the large family descend , it was the obvious place for the overflow to stay as they could walk back after dinner. They were most disappointed with the small fairly basic rooms, for the price paid, but they were served a hearty breakfast!
Also after a game of golf , on the recommendation of friends we had supper of fish and chips, not good and definitely of the frozen kind with too much batter on the fish. Our table was sticky and needed a good clean. This meal was in the conservatory. A previous meal in the restaurant was nicely served and of a much higher standard. So yes variable standard, and for our family not the best place to stay. Overflow camping in the garden this weekend! Fairly basic too!

We stayed here for a wedding at Plas Hafod in Mold. The bride and groom had arranged for a bus to pick up the guests at 2pm and take them to the wedding.

We arrived at 1pm and wanted to change in our room, numerous other guests were in the same situation. We were told that our room was ready but if we wanted to check in before 2pm we'd have to pay an additional 20 quid. This was despite them knowing the situation with the bus. They must have been making nearly a grand out of the rooms booked for the wedding and on a Sunday too. So unhelpful, bad attitude and left a very bitter taste.

We booked in on the last minute. What a wonderful find. Staff were helpful and friendly. Meals were terrific. Prices extremely reasonable. Rooms very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast excellent served by pleasant and enthusiastic staff. There was a large wedding in one of the suites at the time - this in no way impacted upon our stay, if anything it added to our entertainment whilst dining in the dining room. We will definitely go again.

We have been to the Beaufort Park many times over the years. It's one of the most variable places in the Mold area, where you can have a good meal in comfortable surroundings or, as we did last time, have a mediocre meal in Bedlam.

The menu is fairly constant, with some good half portion offers when you don't want a lot. Their fish are huge, so the real fish fingers make a decent small meal. There are two vegetarian options, as well as halloumi wraps.

Wine measures are always generously offer the line.

The hotel is a stop for coaches, with poor people on a visit to Chester! It's about 12 miles from Chester in a village with one pub and no shops! To see people trudging down to Mold is a regular Sunday morning sight. They'd be disappointed there, too, on a Sunday.
