“top food unpretentious and authentic”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

I have had the pleasure of visiting here a number of times. On the last occasion I dined here as part of a large group. The tapas was excellent, well cooked, authentic and good value. We had a wide selection meatballs, prawns, squid, chicken casserole, manchego cheese etc. All were cooked to a high standard and were presented nicely. The food was well spaced out also what meant that you were not overwhelmed with food sitting there going cold.

It is always a worry with Tapas in a large group that you may go hungry but the portion sizes here are excellent.

Some review have mentioned that it is busy and cramped and can sometimes be cold. Make sure you book and ask to sit upstairs. It is much more spacious and tends to be reserved for diners rather than drinkers. Nevertheless I have dined downstairs on Friday nights and it has never bothered me, but i do understand some may be put off.

Overall a great meal. Authentic and unpretentious what sets this apart from another Tapas restaurant in Mold (where you couldn't attribute either although the food is relatively good).

“The best night off in a long time!”

A really good choice of tapas for two people. I've usually found you need at least 4 people to get a good selection. Talking about good selections, the bottled beer selection is superb, I know, I'm a publican!

“Cosy welcoming setting”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

Classic Friday or Saturday in this bar is always packed and very popular with the locals and people coming from afar. With a tiny kitchen, tiny bar and not many staff this place does very well with what they have. The tapas is excellent but I would recommend going on a night when it will be quieter because it will arrive sooner at your table. On a Friday or Saturday however explore their wine and beer menus with the possibility of trying something new and delicious. Will always recommend this place to friends since there's not much of a nightlife in Mold. Not particularly family oriented but perfect for a night out with friends or a date. Enjoy.

“Best bar in North Wales.”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

I've been going to this place for over 10 years. I've never eaten there (the tapas is a recent venture), but have always gone for its great selection of Belgian beers and quirky charm. Mold is so lucky to have this place, and yet most ignore it and go to the godawful Wetherspoons. A true hidden gem.
