Penny and I arrived finally after getting lost! Mrs Price was most helpful and what a WOW factor when we drove down the long drive to Plas Penucha. Very warm welcome, lovely warm, snug, cosy bedroom. Excellent food and wine for evening meal and grand substantial breakfast. Most needed as we were walking the Offa's Dyke Path. Mrs Price took us and collected us from the end of our walk for that day at Bodfari. The house is stunning, wonderful library, and steeped in history. A log fire was lit in the lounge and after eating it was so relaxing to laze in front of it. Would like to return for a longer stay. Big THANKYOU Mrs price when I found I had left my one walking stick behind, and you kindly telephoned our next b&b, much appreciated. Very recommendable!

What a wonderful find. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we had a relaxing break. We were offered tea and biscuits on arrival which we enjoyed overlloking the magnificent garden. As we were in North Wales to walk part of Offa's Dyke we were very pleases to be offered a lift to our starting point in Rhuallt. One evening Mrs. Price made us a meal which was wonderful. We will seriously consider returning the next time we are in North Wales. Tip- do not follow your sat nav up a narrow lane from the A541. Go to Caerwys an follow instructions fro there.

Room Tip: Ask for an ensuite room

This is a charming B&B.

We stayed in the two en-suite rooms in the main house. The rooms themselves are fine & the panelled library, dining room & arts & crafts staircase are wonderful.

The address is hard to find but the owner is very helpful & I would certainly stay here again.

The owner picked us up in Bodfari and took us back next day. We had a very good dinner in the evening. Breakfast very good as well.

We’ve just had a 3 night stay at Plas Penucha cottage just outside Caerwys, North Wales. The cottage was ideal for the two of us as we had our dog, Cassie with us which was quite secure for her although on the last day we didn’t quite shut the side gate and she got out – not very far as she was obsessed with the chickens nearby.

The cottage was all on one level and was very well presented. It was completely self contained and has a lovely conservatory where you overlook the owners own immaculate gardens. The cottage wasn’t far from the coast and most attractions and it was quite nice to come back each day to a very tranquil setting. We had a warm welcome from Mrs Price (the owner) who showed us around and if you don’t want self catering the cottage is attached to Plas Penucha B&B which on the quick peep we had inside looked lovely.

If you are after a tranquil setting in the countryside you couldn’t ask for better. We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this place or returning ourselves.

Had another lovely stay at Plas Penucha and find out that they are doing book binding courses there so may find myself tempted back again in future. We found it useful to get to Liverpool airport from here where we had to be for business. A nearby pub did us a fine evening meal. Then we sat in front of a roaring open fire in the guests Oak pannelled library room. There are no tellies in the rooms but there is one in the guests room and you can sit by the fire in soft leather luxury and watch. The rooms are good sized and this B and B is near to Chester if you need to go there the lady of the house and her family are lovely and it is such good value for money. I would phone ahead to get instructions on how to find it it is easy to get lost but once found so worthwhile

Room Tip: I think they are all good rooms with splendid views

Really wonderful ancient country house and made so welcome. My dog was very welcome too. I had the place to myself and loved sitting in the oak pannelled guest sitting room with a roaring fire and views over the grounds to the mountains, feels as if I have wandered into the set of a historical drama, the house has been with the same family since the 1500s.
