Returned from The Beaches Hotel this afternoon after a great weekend with family and friends. A lovely, clean and very, very friendly hotel. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. The breakfasts were lovely whether we wanted cooked ( including vegetarian Sausages and warmed soya milk) or cereals, fruit and yoghurt. my husband was given an enormous bunch of grapes with his breakfast which was enough for the four of us at the table. Our room 109 was large, bright, airy and overlooked the beach, what more could we ask?
The gym although small was great and although we did not make use of the pool, sauna and jacuzzi, it was nice to know we had the option.
This is somewhere we would most definitely stay again. Thanks to all the staff.

Room Tip: The rooms on the first floor are near the restaurant and down a flight to the spa and gym.

The hotel seems to be run by immature teenagers. The food is awful. At breakfsat one of our party asked for a boiled egg. "Sorry but we don't do boiled eggs" Cannot do boiled eggs more like. Ater persuasion they produced an egg so runny it had barely been boiled. Dinner - made mistake of ordering twice baked souffle. It bore the consistency of porridge with a strange yellow colour. The chicken breast was made of worn hemp. The receptionist appeared to come directly from the cast of Fawlty Towers. As we checked out someone was stuck in the lift which produced on her part unbcontrolled hysteria. Do not suppose by being fully occupied this is a good hotel. It provides accommodation for the workers creating a vast offshore wind farm.
The favourable reviews I have read are simply unbelievable.

Stayed at the Beaches Hotel for 3 nights . Used as a sightseeing base. Easy access to Llandudno, Conwy etc. We had a sea view room which was very good. Clean and a good size. Beach and promenade excellent for after dinner walk.
Food in hotel we found very good. A good range and specials each night. We ate in bar each night and could choose from bar or restaurant menu.
Found pool an excellent extra for a 3 star hotel. Included a small spa, steam room and sauna.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
A great 3 days . Thank you Beaches.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.

We visited the Beaches Hotel for a night over the weekend as we were visiting friends for a birthday celebration in Prestatyn. The hotel has a great location, right on the beach, whilst only being a circa. 15 minutes walk into the town centre. The staff were helpful and pleasant from the time we arrived. We had a good size room (easily able to accommodate our travel cot) with a sea view, which was lovely. The room was quiet and reasonably well equipped, with a flat screen television, tea & coffee facilities, fridge and an absolutely awesome shower; in fact, possibly the most powerful shower I have ever used! The hotel also has a small (ish) pool and a gymn. We used the pool briefly and found it to be both warm and quiet. We saw a few people using the gymn, though it does not appear to be particularly extensively equipped. Breakfast was okay without being outstanding. There seemed to be lots of staff around, but it still managed to display all the benign chaos of the typical UK sea-side hotel. Overall, this is a good place to stay if you are in Prestatyn for the weekend. It is probably at its best when the sun is shining, as it was when we visited, but then where is this not the case!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view on the second or third floor and see if you can get a suite; we had room to spare...

The only tables available to eat at were next to the toilets (?!) & the loud drunk people from the function next door had to walk passed our table, which didn't allow for an enjoyable meal. Vegetarian options were a risotto or baked potato which was disappointing and then the vegetables were of tiny portions because they'd run out. My partner's meat meal was okay, edible but nothing special. The card machine wasn't working which was a nuisance. The staff seemed like they wanted to go home.

Paid for the "Deluxe Double" for "comforts and amenities of our Standard bedrooms, and then some. More space means there’s room for a double size bed, a work desk." Turned out to be a small double room with the sofa put at the bottom and table squished into the corner. Would like to see what size the "double room" would actually be if ours was the larger one! The "state of the art LCD TV" was a normal small TV up on the wall.

The bed had couple of "bumpy" patches on the mattress; carpets could really do with changing throughout the hotel & our room had a lot of black marks all over it & very worn; shower door didn't close easily; toilet roll holder was broken. Having asked for a seaside room it would've been nice for the windows to be clean to be able to see out of properly and without the addition of seagull poo.

Breakfast was okay. The pool looked better in the pictures (as did the hotel.)
I'd rather go elsewhere for a bit more than just "okay". No better than a travel lodge.

My husband and I have just spent 4 nights @ this hotel, it was our first visit. We found the staff to be young and pleasant and kept very busy. The bedroom had a sea view which we enjoyed, and was nice and clean and comfortable, it was on the second floor. We made use of the pool and spa pool which was nice and clean but the changing room and showers need some improvement. Breakfast was good and so was the bar food. All in all 'A Good Find'. For a mid-week break it was excellent, but I imagine it could be noisy @ weekends when weddings take place. We are in our sixties, but all ages were staying, and we would go back.

LOCATION: If you are looking for a quiet hotel but want facilities nearby then this is a good choice for you. At the east end of Prestatyn, the hotel is the last building before Mostyn, but the promenade and the beach continue on. But if you travel west (the bus stops right outside the hotel) then you have all the facilities you need in town, including the newly-opened retail park and little independent shops if retail therapy is your thing. The Conwy Valley and Snowdonia Park are within comfortable travelling distance if you have a car, as is Chester, and the railway runs all along the coast so offers a very good alternative to using the car.
ROOMS: We had booked a family room (we have a 12 year old boy) and the first room we were given was far too small, with a double and a single squeezed into what was only just a double room, in our opinion. However, after a phone call to reception we were relocated without any fuss to a much better size room which we found comfortable and much more what we had expected (from the photos on the website). Our only criticism of the room was is was too hot but we were able to open the two windows nice and wide so could bring the temperature down to a more comfortable level. A bedside light wasn't working when we arrived but when we returned from our first trip out it was fixed.
FOOD: The food was very good, of a standard in keeping with the hotel. We did not eat in the restaurant but did order food in the bar which varied from sandwiches to full 3-course meals. Sandwiches are made with standard sliced bread but if you ask when you order they will use bloomer/granary bread. Perhaps the hotel could consider using 'real' bread as standard! Breakfast was very good, a good selection and nothing too much trouble - warm croissants and poached eggs on request (yummy!)
STAFF: On the whole, the staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful, despite having teething trouble with their new computer system. The bar and waiting staff are quite young and work very long hours - they do a sterling job!
FACILITIES: The pool was very clean and a lovely temperature. The family made use of it every day; it was one of the reasons we chose this hotel as we wanted something for our 12 year old to do if/when it was raining (this is North Wales!). The beach is right outside the hotel - no roads to cross - and the see comes right up to the promenade when the tide is in. The views out to sea are uninterrupted - and we spotted dolphins and seals from windows in the bar!

PUBLIC AREAS: The decking area shown in the website photos is quite small, but there is a bigger paved area outside the bar area with lots of seating and tables. It was a little on the breezy side to sit out there this week, but that's the British weather for you! The reception, lounges and bars were all very comfortable - but there is a very faint memory of cigarette smoke.

Overall, if we were returning to Prestatyn, we would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Welsh hills to one side, sea views to the other. Room 103 was comfortable but over the laundry and p...
