“Great rooms, beautiful views & great service!”
Reviewed May 24, 2013 via mobile

We really enjoyed our stay, we were welcomed with a much needed cup of tea & traditional warm welsh cakes when we arrived, the room was spotlessly clean & a great size, the views from the window were beautiful too, really handy location for the Crogen Estate where they hold wedding ceremonies. It's a beautiful place & well worth a visit. We were made very welcome & I would recommend staying here.

Hi, I am really glad that you enjoyed your stay, and yes the Berwyn mountain and the green fields around here are beautiful and peaceful. It's a great place for walking, with public footpaths everywhere, and a choice of short or really long walks.
We have several local wedding venues which are beautiful.
We also have steam trains at Bala and Carrog to Llangollen, so you are never short of things to do. Even white water rafting, kyaking and canoeing, high tree climbing and paint balling.

It would be so nice yo see you again, and thank you for leaving this wonderful review. Diolch!!

A very pleasant B&B in a lovely village. Mrs Jones was most helpful and made us very welcome. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and tidy. I can recommend the local pub where everyone speaks Welsh all the time! The food and beer were all you would expect from a country pub.

Room Tip: The front rooms have great views!

Thank you so much for your kind words and for spending your valuable time on this review!
There are several places to fish in the Dee valley as well qof course, and the Tourist Information centres are there to give advice on where they are and where to get a permit.
You probably know that LLyn Tegid, or Bala Lake as some call it, has a stock of ice age fish that lives deep down in the lake, called Y Gwyniad, a white fish, and it's illegal to fish for it.

I'm glad that you were comfortable, it would be nice to see you again sometime soon, when you decide to have another go at fishing perhaps!

Eirlys runs a very comfortable and welcoming b and b in the best Welsh traditions. We took her 3 rooms as a family, and had great fun. Convenient to some of the best Welsh countryside, it is also only 200 yards from Tyddyn Llan which is back on form and is one of Wales' best restaurants.

What a lovely place Y Llwyn is. Eirlys welcomed us in, even though we were early, with a pot of tea and toasted tea cakes! Eirlys was so friendly and you don't feel like you have just met. The bed was very comfortable (normally when I go away I have problems with my back, but this bed was great!) and the room was very clean. Llandrillo is a small place, the local pub did lovely food and is a very short walk away. The locals were all friendly acknowledging us wherever we went. It is also an excellent place for exploring North Wales. If we go back to North Wales we will definately stay at Y Llwyn and I have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.

It's a wonder what a cup of tea can do after a long journey!
I know what it's like to have backache and want my guests to be comfortable, that bed has a mirror foam mattress.
You two must have seen most of North Wales and parts of N. England whilst you stayed here!
Y Llwyn is quite central, inbetween 3 counties, on the border to Snowdonia, about an hour from the coast to the North and West!
Today you'd be looking at little lambs playing in the field infront of the house, we've had sunshine all week, wonderful!
It would be good to see you again, any time you want a break. Give me a ring and the kettle will be on!
Thank you for a wonderful review!!

A friend and I enjoyed a very welcoming stay at the guest house and were made to feel like we were completely at home. The lovely wide range of choices for breakfast gave us a perfect and warm start to the day before venturing out on our trips in the snow. The twin room we stayed in was very comfortable and clean with the most amazing views of the mountains. We arrived in the heaviest snow in Wales for 16 years and Eirlys welcomed us at the door with warm tea and cakes. She was very accommodating helping us out where ever she could, even teaching us some Welsh! We were just across the road from a pub that was also very welcoming and social, who serve up the tastiest home cooked meals with I must say glorious large portions. The B&B is very close to Betws-y-Coed for a shopping or a hiking day out. There are many other things to do close by like white water rafting, cycling, beauty spas, kayaking plently of beautiful walks with waterfalls etc and even hiking with Lama's directly from the village. But the best part of our stay was Eirlys homemade rubarb jam!

It is very pleasing to hear that you both enjoyed your stay here. It's so relaxing and quiet around here in the winter, so different to the cities of course.
I do make sure that I buy local, fresh produce for breakfast. What could be better than free range eggs delivered to the door, and home made sausages from Bala or Corwen butchers.
I make my own jams and marmalade, also bread and yogurt,
I look forward to seeing you both again, it was a pleasure to meet you!

We enjoyed walking the Berwyn range of mountains and we were able to use Y Llwyn as a base for our hike. Mrs Eirlys Jones, the proprietor, was friendly and very welcoming. Mrs Jones is a long standing resident of Llandrillo, She was able to provide us with her insight on the attractions available to walkers in and around Llandrillo. We would recommend Y Llwyn to anyone who wanted to walk in the Berwyns. We hope to return to Y Llwyn as soon as possible.

Thank you so much for leaving a feedback. I am glad that you enjoyed yourselves. The Berwyn range of mountains is a vast area, and it must be the world's best kept secret, as it is not well advertized!! It's also a nature reserve, we have many wild birds nesting up there in the Spring. Guests from Y Llwyn often walk up to Cadair Berwyn, which is the highest peak and some like to walk over to Llanrhaeadr Ymochnant and to Pistyll Rhaeadr (the Waterfall). I often taxi my guests back here, but don't tell everyone!
It would be great to see you again, next time you come here there will be an extra ensuite bathroom.

I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay.
We are lucky that we have 3 excellent restaurants in Llandrillo, within a short walk of Y Llwyn!
The view from the front of the house is wonderful, especially with the autumnal colours on the mountain, trees and hedges.
I'd better make some more Welsh scones then. I look forward to seeing you again soon.
I am having a lot of alterations done to the house in the next fortnight, a new ensuite etc.
Thank you for your review, it was very much appreciated!
