Having spent a couple of hours at the castle we had no high hopes of good food nearby. We were wrong. This little teahouse served up fine welsh rarebit and homemade casseroules. Tea select was large, the tea is the best to be had. We sat out on the terrace with views of the castle and bay. An inspiring place to sit eat and drink. Note the old scottish methodist cemetery hidden away.

Does b&b which must be a good option too.

Seek it out after visiting the castle.

Room Tip: The castle and bay view is great.

What a little gem in Harlech! The best scones, jam and cream on our holiday of 5 weeks in the UK.

However what was even better was the fabulous range of teas and the knowledge that the owner Geoff was prepared to impart and advise on. The four of us had our tea tailored to our likes and there were no complaints, just fulsome praise. Well done Geoff and Jan - keep it up

Had lunch here during a day out walking in the country. We both had Welsh rarebit - excellent, and latte - excellent. Lovely tea room. Friendly staff with good local knowledge. Nice bathroom too and free wi-fi. There was a constant stream of customers in the door which probably says a lot about it's popularity, but the place never seemed busy or crowded.

We stayed here over a few days. The room was very clean and spacious. The views out of the window included the castle; the beach; and over to the right Mount Snowden! The breakfast was really good. Geoff and Jan were very helpful giving us ideas on where to go and what we could see.
Overall a really good place to stay....

Room Tip: There are only 2 to choose from and both are really good with views of the castle from both.

We found this great little B&B after arriving too late to visit the castle and as usual with us, having not organised anywhere to stay. The room we had over looked the Castle, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, breakfast the next morning was also very nice. Must say it was one of the more expensive B&B’s we have stayed in, but couldn’t fault the service. Also has a, nice pub on the corner, so overall a great find.

Room Tip: If available ask for the one at the back overlooking the castle

We came across Cemlyn after visiting the castle & finding other cafes on the way closed - lucky for us! We were first drawn by their extensive list of teas & can now highly recommend the 'Gunpowder Temple Of Heaven' & 'Sencha & Ginseng'. The owners & staff are very friendly & knowledgeable about the teas & coffees on offer, which is great & the teapots are novel too! Other customers were just ordering traditional teas... What a waste & they missed a treat! The Aduki Bean Casserole was just what we needed & easily the best meal out on our holiday (We are all vegetarian & have struggled to find decent home-made veggie food other than lasagne & goat's cheese risotto)The cakes were delicious too! Definitely worth a visit - they also do B&B & have WIFI. :)

Arrived in Harlech to find I had messed up our booking and had nowhere to stay - doh!
Went into the village and new the Cemlyn did the best tea and cake in town. Despite "closed" the owners (friendly and jolly couple) answered the telephone call and rushed down and showed us a great room, with views over the coast and good quality decoration.
The breakfast was excellent - as expected.
A large range of teas, coffees and home made cakes. This is not a restaurant, but if it was, it would be great!

Room Tip: Get parked early - parking is in short supply in Harlech mid season
