We were staying at the Plas Curig Hostel so the Bryn Tyrch was only 100 yards away. It is a cosy pub with a good selection of proper beer and great food. They have one menu, but with a very varied selection on it catering for bar snack type meals to a decent three course meal. Have at look at their menu on their website. We were all very happy with our choices and would definitely visit the pub again.

Arrived on spec hoping they had a table for 5,which they had and we were seated in a cosy corner of the restaurant . The staff were friendly and asked us if we would like drinks and left us the menus. We ordered mains, saving room for puds, the mains arrived and all seemed fine however? One of the party had ordered a sea food dish which on eating found to contain some bits of shell, which was a shame as the quality of food so far was good.we ordered our puds and one of our party decided on the cheese board, the puds arrived ,yummi ,then the cheese board turned up, oh dear! A few crackers like you would have found in the cupboard a few weeks after Xmas and 3 small pieces of cheese, all for £7.95.gobsmacked is an understament they didn,t even say if the cheeses were local or what they were at all ,we had to guess.what a shame that they couldn't produce a cheese board to the standard of the rest of the meal?on reflection don,t order sea food or the cheese board and you won,t be disapointed.

My wife and I visited this restaurant and had an outstanding fish and chip lunch. So much so we are going back next week for more. Lunch time during the week was quiet. Can't see any reason for this

From the moment you arrive in the bar you are made to feel welcome. The staff are all friendly and attentive.
The food is very good. The soup of the day was fresh and tastey, the steak well cooked, the fish delicious, the desserts hearty. Couldn't fault it for good gastro pub food and a great atmosphere where all were made to feel at home. You won't be disappointed.
