We had to book this hotel at the last minute for 2 nights in high season and so were pleased to get a room. The hotel/rooms are undoubtedly old fashioned (had the feel that my Grandma's house used to have) and maintained to a budget but you have to remember though that the price is very reasonable - probably £15-20 per night cheaper than alternatives. Being a Victorian building the ceilings were very high and it had solid walls so we didn't hear any noise. Our room was perfectly clean too which I think is the most important thing in a budget hotel.

Our host at breakfast (cereals, toast and cooked) was chatty, very friendly, and advised guests about local attractions etc.

Overall, West Point Hotel is better value and much more friendly than your typical Travelodge-style budget hotel chain - we would definitely stay again.

We stayed 3 nights here, in July this year, with our 2 little dogs and couldn't have wished for more, Jan and her Husband are a lovely couple and were the perfect hosts and made us all feel very welcome. They made breakfast for us every morning, and even set up tables in a separate room from the main dining room, so we could breakfast with our dogs, Jan even got them their breakfasts every morning too.
We were served a hearty breakfast that kept us going til late afternoon, we are hoping to go back again soon just to taste that bacon. I would not be surprised if Jan still remembers how we all like our eggs!
The room was spotlessly clean, lovely and light and very spacious. The beds were so comfy We all slept soundly and woke refreshed and ready for what ever the day had in store for us.
The en- suite was lovely and clean and toiletries were even provided, along with soft toilet rolls. There were tea and coffee making facilities in our room Jan even told us off for buying fresh milk for our tea, as there was plenty in the fridge. TV and WiFi all in with the very reasonable cost of the room. Highly recommend this hotel, as I said earlier we hope to return very soon. Christine, Stephen, Norma , Amber , Daisy and Bear.

The location couldn't be better. Easy walking distance from the town, restaurants etc, but not so close for it to be too noisy. Train station also within easy walking distance, and regualar trains to Llandudno, Conwy etc. Some great restaurants within Colwyn Bay as well. Really fantastic location to use as a base for exploring. The owners here are incredibly friendly and offer lots of suggestions about things to do and places to eat in the local area, and they have leaflets with discount vouchers. Rooms are an average size, but with plenty of storage. Comfy beds. Some rooms have baths, others don't. Clean but basic rooms. But excellent value for money. Owners were really accomodating with breakfast requirements. Very generous amounts of tea/coffee/milk etc in rooms. Couldn't have asked for more. Ideal for exploring on a budget

This B & B was a great base from which to explore a little of north Wales. We were a bit apprehensive on arrival as there was no welcoming bowl of drinking water at the door for our dog..however we need not have worried. The bedroom was spacious. The ensuite small but adequate. The towels and toilet rolls were soft..the breakfast plentiful (the dog even enjoyed a sausage..or two..) and our hosts very welcoming. What more does one need?!

The hotel is in an excellent location for the town centre and local shops. Although on a main road it is set back in pleasant gardens. Our room overlooked a local school's playing field so noise was minimal. It also has it's own car park. The owner Jan was very welcoming and couldn't do enough to help us. We were attending a friend's birthday party and she organised a taxi for us as well as changing our room to a lower floor as my husband has walking difficulties. She is an excellent host.

The room was spacious and very clean with a comfortable double bed, there was also a decent sized bathroom with a walk in shower. There was plenty of tea & coffee in the room for those who like a pre-breakfast cuppa! Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and everything was very fresh.

Overall the hotel is excellent value for money and we really enjoyed our stay.

I stayed here and was checked in very quickly by a young man, with payment taken in advance. The room was comfortable, but as the weather was scorchingly hot, I ended up sleeping on top of the bed, rather than in it, with the window open day and night. Naturally, I had the shower running lukewarm, so I was grateful for its fine temperature control. Breakfast was fairly basic, but whatever you wanted was done however you liked it, and promptly delivered to the table. Coffee, however, was from a self-service machine. I office that guests who wanted help and advice about places to eat, our attractions to visit, were given all the information they required. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the town centre and railway station, while buses stop very close by.
