“A superb reason to visit Colwyn Bay again!”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

Excellent furnishings, food, drink and service. Having grown up in Colwyn Bay I have struggled to find a reason to spend more than a few minutes in the town for anything other trying to find an item of hardware, now, there is a reason. You can easily spend at least an hour in this place-not because you're waiting a lifetime to be served or your order taken, but because it is a pleasant place to spend time in.

The free wifi, excellent products on offer and the price that fit perfectly for the area bring a desperately needed sense of contemporary urban style and substance to a place that has suffered a lot in recent decades for places to go and reasons to stay.

I had a brie and bacon panini and a latte and my girlfriend tomato and red pepper soup and a fruit tea, all just over £10 which is excellent value. Upon receiving our order we weren't just happy but hugely surprised. After having experienced many a supposed "good deal" elsewhere and receiving awful food, the latte was properly made, the panini correctly toasted and a salad with a salsa that hugely complimented the overall meal's taste. The soup was hot and tasty too which, unfortunately, can be very rare.

The whole place feels thought-out and well put together. You can tell when an establishment knows what they're doing when the staff know what is on offer, the floor is clean, the decor fits the building and the crockery actually adds to the experience.

All in all an excellent addition to the town and hopefully a catalyst for future businesses in the area: good food, good prices and actual customer service; well done and thank you!

“Lovely coffee shop”
Reviewed June 2, 2014 via mobile

I visited Porters on my lunch break, and ordered a baked potato and a coffee. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the quality of the food and coffee was excellent. The only downside for me was that even though there were only 4 other people in there, it took 20 minutes for my food to arrive. If I had longer for my lunch break this would not have been a problem as it was such a pleasant environment to sit in, so next time I visit, I will make sure I have more time to enjoy it!

“This place just gets better!”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

We have now visited this great cafe in the day time on a number of occasions over the last few months. The menu has changed a little since the start, but continues to be a very fair price and has good variety. The staff are very pleasant and extremely helpful. When we visited today, we were unable to have our choice of hot cross buns as they had run out (discovered after we had ordered). However, the guy serving was extremely apologetic and offered us an alternative which was fine, and also take out drinks to compensate us for our inconvenience. We didn't take him up on this offer as we hadn't been inconvenienced at all, but felt this was a very kind and fair offer. I am not sure if you can get this sort of service elsewhere and all credit to the place for looking after their customers. This is definitely a fantastic asset to Colwyn Bay. Well done guys- keep it up!!

“Excellent Pub Grub with a great atmosphere.”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

Visited here on Mothers Day this tear and they had a great special on. If the special was not on I would still pay a visit because the service, food portion size and atmosphere was not what I expected from a Bistro.... It was better. Being a man who enjoys a 'good pub meal'. This satisfied all of my expectations, same as the wife's, the friends we were with etc. Highly Recommended. Reading this review and still can't decide????.... make a booking now... you won't be disappointed.

“Beautiful & Unique Coffee Shop/Bistro & Good Food”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

We tried Porter's for the first time today and we will definitely be going back! The owners have lovingly restored not just the inside of this beautiful building but the outside too. This place is unique in Colwyn Bay and the best coffee shop there by far, having tried most of them over the years. The staff are very pleasant and my American pancakes with bacon and maple syrup was well presented and tasty.
There are some old postcards of Colwyn Bay on the wall which are interesting to look at too.
Well worth a visit.
