Gave it another try here and the situation as not improved, had the haddock special and was tasteless watery fish, chips slightly better than last visit but the service got much much worse, waitress in urgent need of training in customer service.
not cheap for the quality of food and poor service - just means that we have to travel out of the Bay for a good fish n chip shop that serves good food with good service.

Visited here today to take my dad out. Tasty food. Very clean. Not very busy which was a shame as people were missing out. Waitress could have been a bit chirpier!!

Called in with a friend. I elected to have a Prawn Cocktail as I wasn't particularly hungry. I then left to walk round the market. Within 20minutes I was retching and being violently sick this malaise stayed with me for the rest of the weekend and completely ruined my stay in Colwyn Bay

We visited Darbey's in Colwyn Bay in April one early evening, it looked very clean and spacious inside. We ordered two fish n chips with mushy peas and bread n butter with tea for two.
service was provided by a young girl who was new as it had not long since started trading, she was very polite/helpful.
Food arrived in very good time, small plates to make the portions look big but would say slightly smaller than most fish n chip shops we have visited.

Chips were very dry and was so pleased the tea was nice as you need to eat these chips with plenty to drink, in fact we dident stop drinking tea/water for several hours after eating as we both had such a dry mouth/s from eating the chips here.

Fish was average quality/size batter ok but nothing great about it, mushy peas very bland/tasteless/colourless.
Overall was average food at average prices (for the area) but we will try again and try some other meal/s.

The address shown by Tripadvisor is not fully correct as it is not in Snowdonia National Park, the rest is correct.
