The first thing I need to mention is the payment shed... It is placed immediately inside the gates which causes tail backs on the road outside. It wasn't too busy when we went but imagine it can cause problems for those not wanting to go into the zoo in peak season. Once we had paid and parked up we went straight to the sea lions which really where the highlight for us. Other good things where the meerkats and chimpanzees, jasper the hormonal chimp really performed for us :)
Lots of interesting facts about the animals and a very friendly place to visit. The cafe was ok for a much needed cuppa, and the meals looked nice. The media centre was informative and we spent a while in there on the interactive computers. Enjoyed our time here and you can tell the staff really care about these animals

We visited in the Easter holidays, there is a large range of animals but they are look miserable and the enclosures are too small. The use of electric fencing is also inappropriate and they were feeding the tortoises cabbage which is incorrect. There is a good play area but you could find a local park for free, I would find a nice farm to visit instead this want nice for the animals.

Had a really nice day hear with a range of ok enclosures and good restaurant facilities. Highlights include: Very good bird & penguin feeding show & tell, good children’s play area. Probably not comparible to large zoo’s like Chester or Knowsley, but fun and enjoyable all the same.

Our visit was the highlight of our holiday to Rhyl, especially as the mountain railway was closed.

The zoo offers stunning views, a good range of animals and the staff are very knowledgeable, professional and hospitable.

The lemurs were fantastic and the sea lion show was excellent.

All in all, great value and fun for anyone with young children who want to keep them entertained for a few hours.

Lovely scenery and some really nice aspects to the zoo, think some of the enclosures could be bigger though. The bird show is amazing and really worth the visit to the zoo, the Penguin parade is fantastic and the birds of prey flying is very good too
