We visited here on a weekday at the beginning of May. For £10 per adult ticket this was one of the best days out we have had. We saw animals that we have not seen in other larger zoo's and even better, we were able to get so close to them! The shows were brilliant, we managed to see a wild bird display, the very cute penguin parade and a sealion show, which were conveniently all scheduled one after the other and in area's just next door to each other! There are plenty of nice gardens/area to sit and have a picnic, and kids are catered for well with a park/playground. My fiance and I are in our early twenties and do not have children, but we had just as much fun as the kids :). Definitely go to the restaurant - i've forgotten the name, but you go down a slope just to the right of the shop/icecream stand - there's fantastic views from here, as from other areas of the park, and a surprise waiting for you if you look over the balcony :)

This zoo is just fantastic. Set up on top of a hill/mountain as the name suggests, its tranquil, quiet with great sea views. They have some great animals there. Despite visiting many other zoos worldwide I'd never seen porcupines or a snow leopard. All the animals were really great, no boring 'filler/make-up-the-numbers' animals like other zoos. The only bad thing was the bear. The bear was clearly in distress as it was darting in and out of the door to its house over and over again - must have done this at least 40 times before we had to leave as it was awful to watch. Animals in distress make repeated movements and its clear to see this bear has gone insane. I dont blame the zoo in any way as the enclosure was very good but bears and other wild animals do not belong in captivity. Its very sad. Like I say, thats just how it goes when you keep an animal in a cage, I dont blame the zoo so. I was so glad we went, was definately one of the highlights of our trip ... that, and climbing snowdon. Do see it.

We took our 5 year old twins here and they had a wonderful time, they have feeding of the sea lions, a bird show with a parade of penguins at the end and a chimpanzee show where the kids were able to feed peanuts to them at the end.

They have an amazing 3 tier adventure playground, the top area is for young children, the middle one is for 5 and over and from the level there are 2 slides that go down to the older children's play area.

Loads of picnic areas, open grass area and tables. There are 2 cafe's (neither take cards so make sure you have cash as there are no cash machines on sight). They are average prices.

There is a children's farm area where they can pet the animals.

All in all it was a brilliant day out enjoyed by all the family.

This zoo is probly the best zoo in Wales and for miles around.a great day out for the whole family I have been about six times and it never gets boring the cafes serve lovely food and the park is exelent for the children.I must say that the cages and encloushres are kept very clean and the zoo keepers are always willing to stop and have a chat with you the gift shop is exelent and not to over priced as these things usually are.I would recommend this great day out to anyone living or dead.10/10

Had a great time at this zoo in Oct 2010.

Its not very big but its actually a really nice place to go to. We spent about 3hours here, watched the 3 shows they hold (chimps, birds/penguins, sealions) and walked around the beautiful setting its in.

Lots of varieities of animals, and you can get really close to them unlike at some other bigger Zoo's.

Highlights were the chimps and sealions.

Animals looked well cared for and staff were friendly,

Shop was quiet pricey but thats to be expected i suppose... Got £1.50 off our total entrance cost with the "top ten attractions" leaflet that we picked up un Rhyl information centre.

Would defo return :o)
