Went over weekend 12/13/4/13 when we went in between six and seven it was always heaving, settled down by about 7-45 pm when most of crowd left.

Its a converted cinema lots of steep steps for the less mobile amongst you

Good selection of beers, good reasonably priced and hot food, very good service all round.

Oh it varies. The bar is only as good as the staff on duty on the day,how many of them are there and how efficient they are, mand at THIS venue,That varies a lot!.The food is good,in the main, service good,But at busy times,I avoid the venue for a meal. Its of no use for folks with mobility issues,Steep steps into it,Steep steps within.Just no good at all.

Started meeting a friend here on a weekly basis. The 1st bad experience was the chicken wings were coated in an extremely hot coating which made them inedible. This was not how they were described on the menu. Upon calling a member of staff over I was told "that's how they come"

In the following weeks there were a number of disasters: cold meals / burnt meals / things missing from the mixed grill / cold hot chocolate.

On 2 consecutive weeks the mixed grill was cold and each time the staff just said "I'll tell the chef"

Needless to say, I don't go here anymore.

Go to Wetherspoons regularly as I have lived almost opposite the pub for 6 years. Since the new manager Ian started the standard has definitely gone up. Breakfasts are ace. All the staff are pleasant and professional. Love the fact that there is no irritating music blaring all day. I sit down with my knitting or a book and enjoy the food, drink and the staff who seem to have a good sense of humor. Special events are always marked by wearing special outfits i.e.kilts on Burns night and father christmas outfits. My son Alex loves going to wetherspoons , so suitable for families.

Still a bit of a gamble luck of the draw as to how your meal/service will be but when things are bad they do put things right and make amends and that makes a huge difference and why we keep taking a chance here, We have learnt that its best to avoid when it looks busy as this is usually when you get long delays/cold food/poor service and a bad meal - ie undercooked/over cooked items missing. Visit on at a less busy time and it can turn out to be a great meal at excellent value and We do recommend the burger deal with a free pint is a great value meal deal , also the rib eye steak with a drink is a great meal deal when cooked right but do avoid curry night and Sunday lunch especially when busy as these both offer the worst issues and at best are not all that great.

Most of the staff are are great/hard workers and management is best they have had for some years.
