Described as modern comfort food, it wasn't quite as comforting as we had've hoped for. I had garlic mushrooms to start which weren't nearly garlicky enough, and pork belly with curried vegetables which was an odd combination in my opinion and didn't really work. My husband had French onion soup to start which was good but lacked a little in depth of flavour. The real disappointment was his main of Trio of Welsh lamb - the shepherds pie and slow braised shoulder were excellent but quite similar in texture and taste, but the canon was really overcooked and let the whole dish down. Service was good, if not a little hurried - to be fair it was a Tuesday and I think they were busier than expected. Nice decor, but lacking a little in atmosphere - not sure there was even music playing. A good, average meal, hence a 3.

Good location and views. Food style described as "modern comfort food". Even simple dishes came out with an interesting twist. Impressed by the quality of produce and cooking. Front of house service was also of the best. Gluten free is not a problem, they will adapt to meet your requirements. Our party of 3 agreed this was somewhere we would definitely be returning to.

Very good food at reasonable prices, friendly and professional staff- they know the menu and offer variations to suit your taste. Very clean, nicely decorated, amazing views if you sit outside.

Good food but a little expensive. Try the slow cooked brisket.
Just over £220 for 4. Did include bottle of wine.
Staff very helpful and friendly.

My parents recently retired locally to this restaurant and I have so far visited 3 times as the service and food have been lovely on all three occasions. Always able to seat us and plenty of space for our baby in her pram. The food is lovely but fairly expensive. Since we found this restaurant my parents have also visited on a couple of other occasions also. Child friendly and supplied a high chair no problem, however one little thing is that the high chair has no tray on it but the chair does not reach the table top so hard to let baby feed herself as food dropped goes straight onto the floor. Minor detail in an all round lovely restaurant. Also the toilet/baby changing is spotlessly clean which is a big bonus. Will be back again on our next visit to my parents.
