Great property, really nicely refurbished. The ground floor twin can be converted to a double giving the option of 4 double rooms although the second twin is quite compact and would advise only for children really.
The upstairs doors take a bit of persuading to close so difficult to slip into your room at night without disturbing other housemates.
The landlords live on site in a detached property along with their 2 friendly horses and couldn't be more helpful when we ran up on a miscommunication about one of the rooms and issues with the boiler.
No phone signal at the property but a good wifi connection (for you gamers out there no lag on PS4 but I use an ethernet not the wifi).
The property has a path down to the riverbank in a really nice setting and easy access to hill trails after the long walk up the drive way.
Be careful with your bubbles in the jacuzzi tub.
We stayed for the weekend when I took part in Man v Horse. The cottage was a great base for us and worked perfectly for us for the weekend.
The swimming spot on the river was nice and cold for soothing my sore legs post run and for my wife to swim in (in her wetsuit).
If I visit the area again I will definitely check to see if this cottage is available.
Beautiful house set in beautiful rural location. The barn was a great size for our party of 8 which included 3 kids. The kids loved playing outside with Bella the dog and loved the horses Woody & Roxy. Penrhyn was a great base for exploring the local area and was about an hr from the coast which was great. The host were very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful time, Thank you Jacquie & Mic
This accommodation was perfect for a large group (10 adults). Beautiful surroundings, ideal for cycling and walking. A lovely sunny terrace ideal for a relaxing drink at the end of the day's activities. Highly recommended.
We found Penrhyn Barn to be a very spacious and comfortable holiday home in a beautiful, undiscovered location. There was ample space for 10 of us and the barn is well equipped with 4 bathrooms/showers. The kitchen, lounge and dining room are all open-plan, ideal for socialising during meals. Under-floor heating and log burner ensure that you will stay warm even in the worst weather; fortunately for us the weather was perfect allowing us to enjoy the afternoon sun with G&Ts whilst watching the Red Kites soar above.
We discovered that the region is fantastic for mountain biking and walking. Also there are a couple of great pubs nearby.
We were so impressed we will be returning next year.
Warm, cosy, clean and spacious. Perfect for 8 friends to celebrate.would be worried about taking younger children because of the near river passing close to property. Great walks and some fantastic scenery
