We've been here a few times when we go for a visit to the Brecon Beacon area. Lunch time menu now includes meals for £5 and with a choice that would appeal to most people. I had fish and chips - both of which were cooked to perfection. My husband had steak pie, mashed potato and peas - lovely chunks of meat in the pie. We both had the brulee for dessert which were accompanied by shortbread biscuits. 2 large glasses of rose wine and 2 coffees. The bill - around £28 - excellent value. The waitress very pleasant and professional. The Kings Head was completely gutted and refurbished a number of years ago and the decor is extremely pleasing on the eye. Can't wait to go back and have promised ourselves that one day we'll actually make the effort and stay the night.
