We had a difficult time finding lodging in Memphis due to the BBQ festival, so ended up staying here on a recent Thursday evening. This place is a MOTEL. The rooms open right to the parking lot and it's fairly busy and noisy on the road in front during the day. The entire place is rundown and in need of repair and some TLC. The room and the entire motel was beat up, dingy, and made us both feel unhappy. It wasn't really dirty, but the bedspread in our room had multiple stains on it (YUCK), and there was plenty of dusty scummy stuff wherever the sweeper couldn't easily reach (between nightstand and bed where the light shone - another yuck. The bed was comfy, though, and the room quite at night, so that was a big plus. Luckily we showered that morning, because we couldn't get any hot water out of the faucet. Just barely warm. The breakfast food was poorly tended to. We arrived before 8am and there were no napkins, no cleaned tables, two little sausage links in one of the heating trays, and the coffee was almost gone. The attendant didn't show for a full 15 minutes, at which time she sashayed out with a small bowl of sausages, ignored the napkins and coffee and promptly returned to her safe hiding place behind the front desk. The front desk people touted the fact that the trolley stop is close to their location, but the trolley stops running at 6pm thru the week, so we opted to take a taxi. The fee was $15 each direction to Beale (which added $30 plus to tip to our fairly cheap room fare). My big beef is the folks at the front desk knew we wanted to go to Beale and were upset about missing the 6pm trolley (we arrived close to 6). They had a shuttle service picking up other guests for $3 fee, but didn't tell us. Just gave us the taxi phone number. We also paid about $80 per night, before taxes, but add close to $40 for taxi fare, it was no bargain. I strongly discourage anyone to stay here.

Disgusting!!! Ugly, old, dingy, dilapidated place. Very overpriced at $80 for one weeknight in a dump! Close to downtown was the ONLY good thing about it. It was dirty and our sink hardly drained. The toilet only flushed when the handle was held down for about 30 seconds.
Top this off with the large cockroach we found in our bathroom in the morning!!! I would have demanded a refund and left had we seen it the night before.
Stay away from this gross place. We were in room 178.

Room Tip: Room 178 is horrible but I suspect all the rooms are just as bad.

We booked best available rate - fortunately it was reduced by the receptionist. Especially as they charge $30 for a pet. So our stay was not cheap at all in the end. The room did not feel clean, I would look for another motel next time.

We stayed at the Quality Inn, Memphis in early April 2014 and were certainly satisfied with our stay. The hotel is in a really useful location, a short walk down to Sun Studios and a bit further to Beale Street, Rendezvous restaurant and the nightlife we came to see! Its is also in a great location for easy drives to Graceland and the National Civil Rights Museum. Whilst we walked down to Beale Street in daylight, I probably wouldn't recommend doing so at night - at least not outside of the University of Tennessee's term time when there are much fewer people (students) about. We did because we couldn't find a taxi to hail and were accosted twice by somewhat full-on beggars. So for peace of mind, take a cab home to the hotel in the dark hours!
The room was clean, spacious and the amenities were modern. There was a large desk and comfortable desk chair in the room, a large flatscreen tv, fridge and a very comfortable king size bed.
The bathroom was much better than I had come to expect in similar motels, the shower was modern and powerful and again, everything was clean.
At check-in and out (the only times we met staff), the lady behind the counter was extremely courteous and efficient.

Only 1 1/2 miles to Beale Street, Fed Ex Forum, Autozone Park, Gibson Guitar Factory, Rock and Soul Museum. Sunstudios is half the distance. Would not recommend walking to Beale. This hotel was the best deal we could find after reviewing Tripadvisor. We had a King room. It was clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good compared to most hotels. Sausage links, biscuits and sausage gravy, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, english muffins, toast, danish, apples, bananas, make your own waffles, coffee, tea, apple juice and orange ( not 100% juice). The breakfast area was kept clean and well supplied. Located right off the interstate. Would definately stay here again. Burger King and McDonalds nearby.

it was better than average--but not very good. the outside is rather worn, but our room had been updated with new bathroom tile and fixtures. the bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and that is what we wanted for an overnight stay.

We were looking for a place to stay for 2 nights that was close to downtown, under $100/night, and decently clean.

The front desk staff was nice enough when we got there. Asked if we could walk to Autozone Park and was told that they didn't recommend it - - a 1.5 mile walk. They had to call to see if room was clean despite us arriving after 3pm. Room was sparsely furnished. Good king bed but no comfortable chair - only a desk and desk chair. No hangers in closet. They seem to have tried to update the room but it didn't quite feel clean. The security lock had been busted off the door. We were on the back of the building with a view of the storage units. Still decent location to get to places if you ignore the sketchy neighborhood. Lots of police presence during the day.

Second day we spent most of it out and about. Had breakfast at the hotel - - they had Danishes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, yogurts, and boiled eggs. Came by the room after 3pm again and they hadn't cleaned just removed the soiled towels. The maid came by while we were there and asked if we wanted the room cleaned. At that point we just wanted towels, a new trash bag, and toilet paper. The sink didn't drain well in our room.

Night 2 our neighbors decided to have a shouting match outside for 1/2 hour. We debated calling on them but it did quiet down after one person told the other that they were going to get kicked out of the hotel. Never heard the police come just a helicopter that sounded like it was going to land on the hotel. The hotel closes 2 of their large iron gates at night supposedly for security.

Check out was quick and easy.
