My husband and I wanted to stay in a newer, highly rated hotel and we were not disappointed. The service was superb, breakfasts A+ and location perfect. We enjoyed walking around the quiet residential neighborhood and along the river. The restaurants were both wonderful. We highly recommend it. The touches of champagne upon arrival, evening port and chocolates were a pleasant sunrise..

We have chosen the River Inn based on Tripadvisor recomendations so there we were,
after a long trip from Amsterdam to Memphis.
The River Inn is easy to find and free parking as you go.
The front Desk lady delivered us a warm and friendly welcome that included a nice wine.
They realy took the time to chat and explain.
We have stayed 4 nights. 3 when we started our trip and another one when we left for home.
First room was in the main building and it was beautiful, very clean, roomy, excellent bed, bathroom and with sight on the river.
When we returned from our 21 days roadtrip, the staff recognized us and we shared some laughs and stories. We had an even bigger room opposite the main building with even greater comfort.

Nice as well is the AC in the rooms are almost noiseless, saves on earplugs. And there is a very good restaurant and sportsbar in the hotel.
At night the staff spoiles you with a couple of chocolates and a port wine. Perfect turn down service.
The next morning you take the great breakfast in Paulettes restaurant which is also part of the hotel, freshly baked to perfection, including croissant, fruit, eggs etc and your day starts.

We stayed in Memphis before and checked out the Peabody, Double Tree, Heartbreak Hotel.
If you appricate a small boutique hotel with friendly staff, great rooms, ez parking, good food and don't mind to drive 5 minutes to downtown. The River Inn is the place to stay.

We are fortunate to have a large experience in hotels and recognize good service and accommodation.
The River Inn is top listed!
Two Thumbs Up!

My husband and I only stayed for one night, but the service we received was outstanding.

We were on our honeymoon and the staff had a last minute cancellation and upgraded us to a suite, which was just magnificent and included lovely wine and chocolates!

We had our dinner at the grill down stairs and watched the sunset while we sat outside.

Breakfast was at Josephine's and the service was simply remarkable! If we didn't have to scoot off so quickly to Nashville to make our flight, I would've sat and had a leisurely breakfast and chat with the staff. They were lovely, so lovely I almost cried. I'd finally discovered the "Southern Hospitality" everybody talks about!

It's so good we're planning a trip back to Memphis!

This charming, small boutique hotel is close to the downtown tourist hotels in Memphis, but feels miles and years apart. It faces the Mississippi River on Mud Island in a delightful area which has an old world feeling. The property is decorated with elegant woods and our room had a four poster bed. We were given an upgrade to a larger room without even asking.

Paulette's, the excellent restaurant onsite, provided a delicious morning breakfast with our special. The french blueberry pancakes and the eggs benedict bring locals out for the Sunday brunch. They had a Monday night dinner special for $19.99 which included an appetizer, an entree and dessert. We enjoyed the regular menu, which was excellent, but more pricy, for dinner. Our dinner servers Scott and breakfast server Patrick were very charming and welcoming.

Carey at the front desk was very helpful in giving written directions on how to get to Graceland and where to go on Beale Street. They aim to please!

We think River Inn is the perfect place to enjoy some romance or just a getaway while visiting Memphis.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room with a view

Outstanding hotel. Old school service, thoughtful, sincere, and genuine attention paid to guests. Terrific staff, either through training or personality they know how to flatter, be attentive, and guide without gushing, pushing, or fussing. Great location, smack down in the middle of a yuppie paradise, without the smugness I would have guessed in evidence. My suite was just wonderful, well appointed and detailed. But do you know what I really liked, I mean really liked? The staff gave every appearance of enjoying their jobs and each other. Find that anywhere else!

Room Tip: My suite, the "Mary Houston" was all I needed, spend the extra for it...
