The hotel is lovely, charming and elegant, well kept up and I highly recommend it. The staff is gracious, helpful and made me feel like I was in a friends home. The room was tiny but just decorated and appointed to the hilt; the bathroom was spacious and well stocked not to mention the bed was one of the best nights sleep in a while. A very comfortable bed with high quality sheets and coverings. The inn has lovely reading spaces, coffee on the floors in the morning and was a nice change from the hotel chains at the same price. It was a welcome sanctuary in the middle of a hectic work week.

This is a delightful hotel where you go to feel really special & be spoilt by true Southern hospitality! My room with 4-poster bed & view of the river was charming, not to mention evening chocolate on pillow & glass of port wine! All personnel were welcoming & most helpful - to the extent of rushing out at the last minute to find a throw-away camera for me & a bottle of liqueur to take home. All tours & tickets were efficiently arranged by Reception ensuring buses/taxis came directly to & from the hotel. Breakfast & dinner were exceptional - delicious food, nicely served by friendly staff. The relaxing Roof top terrace/bar was perfect after a busy day sightseeing. I cannot praise this hotel highly enough & thoroughly recommend it should you visit Memphis or plan a 'pilgrimage' to Graceland like me!

Room Tip: Magical room with 4-poster bed. TV & all modern attachments for computers, etc.

stayed here for our anniversary; never left it except to jog on the Mud Island it sits on (skip the nearby River Museum- dated, needs maintenance and a major makeover). Nice choice of eating in their Danielle's restaurant or the more informal grille across the street. Very helpful staff, rates include a fine upscale breakfast served with a personal touch. Only downside- 2 computers there are slow, full of viral bugs and virtually unusable...Free adjacent parking, on the Miss. River but a bit too far to walk down to the city sites. Felt like a true Boutique hotel at a good rate!

Traveling to Memphis for a Dylan concert on July 30th, this was at the top of my list for a place to stay, based largely on reviews by previous guests on Trip Advisor.

It's charming, quaint and CLEAN (my number one must have!). In addition, it's located in Harbor Town, on Mud Island, the site of the Dylan show of the 30th.

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and offered multiple suggestions on a place to catch a bite after the show, when asked.

The room, though small, was beautifully appointed, and the river view lovely, as was all of Harbor Town. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom sparkling clean. Room service was prompt, and the cheese plate and house wine was delicious. Breakfast on Sunday morning at Paulettes was lovely, delicious, and service prompt and professional. A light eater I ordered two fired egg whites and coffee. When the plate arrived the egg whites were fluffy and light, and shaped like a omelet. The waiter shared with me the fact that the chef couldn't bear the thought of two sparse egg whites on the plate so he added a few more, and made them into a fluffy "omelet". Beautifully presented, they were adorned with a few sprigs of herbs and asparagus tips. There's an artist in the kitchen.

We stopped into Tug's for a late afternoon drink, and the bartender on duty gave us a great tip for Memphis style ribs after the show. I didn't catch his name but many thanks! The ribs DID fall off the bones at the Blues City Cafe on Beale Street. Yum!

Lovely stay; we'll definitely make this our headquarters on future visits to Memphis.

The River Inn provides all the style, luxury and hospitality you could want from a boutique hotel -- at a good price. High marks to the front desk hospitality and the classy breakfast included in the price. We opted for a standard room, which we found a bit smallish; I will move up a notch next time. The only amateur (though very friendly) note was the service during happy hour on the outdoor terrace. Overall, highly recommended.

Room Tip: Don't be cheap! The River Inn provides good value for the price, so go

If you go to Memphis, stay here. Some of the area in and around downtown Memphis is a little questionable. There is very little parking in Memphis except for public lots which are not monitored. However, this hotel is on an island just off downtown Memphis - very safe with free parking on site. If you do not mind walking, you can walk from the island, across the pedestrian bridge and into downtown Memphis at a trolley stop. From there, you can get to anywhere. You do not have to worry about parking or your car.

Aside from wanting to stay here for the parking and the safety, the hotel is wonderful. The staff is helpful and the amenities are great - wine upon arrival, turn down service, port wine and chocolates at night and sit down gourmet breakfast included. Given the going rate for most hotels in Memphis, this hotel is a wonderful value.
