Description: While dining at The Majestic Grille you might expect to see Myrna Loy & William Powell sitting at the bar, zinging witty one-liners at each other over ice-cold martinis. Originally built in 1913 as the Majestic No. 1, a silent picture house that entertained Memphians for three decades, the restaurant gives diners a glimpse of the heady Hollywood days of ol'. From the beautifully restored Beaux Arts décor to expertly prepared classic cocktails to warm, gracious service to Chef/Owner Patrick Reilly's award wining, yet remarkably comfortable food, you find yourself feeling transported to another time. Add to that the largest private movie screen in the city showing silent films & classic movies and you're center stage in an atmosphere that reclaims the cinematic glory of the dawn of the silver screen. Named Best Restaurant, Best Brunch and Best Chef, The Majestic Grille has won accolades in regional and national press. As a community gathering spot for the Arts, The Majestic Grille offers up a dining experience that delights all the senses! Whether sipping a mimosa at our 'Ultimate' Sunday Brunch, hosting a business dinner in a private room, or watching the trolley roll by on our beautiful patio, we invite you to join us for a special dining experience in our historic downtown location. We look forward to seeing you soon, Deni & Patrick Reilly

We wandered in for a late lunch and the minute were were inside and greeted by the hostess we both breathed a great sigh. The place was slightly dark thanks to all the beautiful wood. It was all old school elegance, sleek, polished and sophisticated.

They did not expect a launch rush so late in the day. They were down a few servers as a result, but everyone was so gracious and apologetic, and they worked very hard and very fast to accommodate the unexpected onslaught of late afternoon diners that we couldn't complain. We got our drinks pretty quickly and there are worse fates than sitting in a cozy booth in a beautiful restaurant with a cold drink in hand.

The entree salads were perfection. Fresh, crisp ingredients not swimming in dressing. Woohoo! The salmon was perfectly grilled. Really nice.

Absolutely loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the seafood flatbread was delicious. Staff was friendly and professional.
Would definitely return again when visiting Memphis.

My husband and I ate dinner at this restaurant yesterday. It was excellent and a pleasant change from most of the other restaurants around. It is a bit more expensive than some - mains averaged $25 to $30 but well worth the extra. Ambience is perfect and food delicious and well presented. The restaurant is in the building of the Magestic cinema and an old film was showing whilst we ate (silent and not at all intrusive, just quirky). Drinks service was initially a bit slow, but could not fault anything else at all. We had a lovely evening.

An upscale menu in an unusual, atmospheric setting made for an enjoyable evening. The cocktails are good here too.

We ate lunch here based on the recommendation of our guest house host, and it was very enjoyable. Pleasantly greeted when we arrived, seated immediately with a view of an old black and white movie playing on the background wall. Lots of lunch options on the menu. I had the spinach and ricotta pasta with a blue cheese side salad and hubby had a burger. We both had a beer with lunch too. Everything was very nicely presented, and tasted great. The beer was overpriced, I would agree with other reviewers there, but I thought the food was reasonably priced for the portion sizes. We would go back again. Total bill came to $56 which is perhaps a bit high, but it was a gorgeous building and nice atmosphere so we didn't feel hard done by!
