Description: While dining at The Majestic Grille you might expect to see Myrna Loy & William Powell sitting at the bar, zinging witty one-liners at each other over ice-cold martinis. Originally built in 1913 as the Majestic No. 1, a silent picture house that entertained Memphians for three decades, the restaurant gives diners a glimpse of the heady Hollywood days of ol'. From the beautifully restored Beaux Arts décor to expertly prepared classic cocktails to warm, gracious service to Chef/Owner Patrick Reilly's award wining, yet remarkably comfortable food, you find yourself feeling transported to another time. Add to that the largest private movie screen in the city showing silent films & classic movies and you're center stage in an atmosphere that reclaims the cinematic glory of the dawn of the silver screen. Named Best Restaurant, Best Brunch and Best Chef, The Majestic Grille has won accolades in regional and national press. As a community gathering spot for the Arts, The Majestic Grille offers up a dining experience that delights all the senses! Whether sipping a mimosa at our 'Ultimate' Sunday Brunch, hosting a business dinner in a private room, or watching the trolley roll by on our beautiful patio, we invite you to join us for a special dining experience in our historic downtown location. We look forward to seeing you soon, Deni & Patrick Reilly

This is a great place for lunch or brunch on Sunday. The service is a little slow but they are still nice!

“Great Experience!”
Reviewed June 11, 2014 via mobile

Enjoyed time w/ coworkers for brunch. Our waiter was very attentive & the overall service was good. The food took quite a while to come out, but we were there at a very busy time. Overall, my food was tasty & well-prepared. The atmosphere was also nice.

“Beautiful atmosphere, O.K. Food.”
Reviewed June 9, 2014 via mobile

Some friends and I made reservations here before we headed to the Bruno Mars concert that was happening at the nearby FedEx Forum. The restaurant is beautiful and I loved the old Hollywood feel, with the old movies playing in the background. However, the food was pretty average. I had the Hanger Steak with Zucchini and Squash. The vegetables were pretty tasteless and really did not taste sautéed. They were also cut into large portions which I had to cut in half in order to fit them into my mouth. The Hanger steak was good, but not great. I ordered mine medium-rare and it was a still a little tough. My friend ordered the same, but with mashed potatoes, which were divine. The bread they serve with the meal is also great. With all of that being said, It was a tad expensive for average food but not a terrible experience.

“Silent Elvis in Memphis”
Reviewed June 9, 2014

The Majestic is an old cinema, a fact reflected in the screening when we were there of an old Elvis movie (no sound though). Service was attentive, we managed the meal by only ordering the main course after finishing the started & when we were ready as "cooking" can be fast at times. Food was good and well presented. The ambience was one of bussel with the restaurant quite full on a Saturday night.
