Description: While dining at The Majestic Grille you might expect to see Myrna Loy & William Powell sitting at the bar, zinging witty one-liners at each other over ice-cold martinis. Originally built in 1913 as the Majestic No. 1, a silent picture house that entertained Memphians for three decades, the restaurant gives diners a glimpse of the heady Hollywood days of ol'. From the beautifully restored Beaux Arts décor to expertly prepared classic cocktails to warm, gracious service to Chef/Owner Patrick Reilly's award wining, yet remarkably comfortable food, you find yourself feeling transported to another time. Add to that the largest private movie screen in the city showing silent films & classic movies and you're center stage in an atmosphere that reclaims the cinematic glory of the dawn of the silver screen. Named Best Restaurant, Best Brunch and Best Chef, The Majestic Grille has won accolades in regional and national press. As a community gathering spot for the Arts, The Majestic Grille offers up a dining experience that delights all the senses! Whether sipping a mimosa at our 'Ultimate' Sunday Brunch, hosting a business dinner in a private room, or watching the trolley roll by on our beautiful patio, we invite you to join us for a special dining experience in our historic downtown location. We look forward to seeing you soon, Deni & Patrick Reilly

“very good - always consistently done...”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

very good food consistently served.....
that's the path to success in the restaurant world....
this fine establishment has been around for around 5 years and always been a very good downtown eating spot.
I have never had a disappointing meal and several of their dishes are excellent...service is extremely consistent, despite the heavy lunch volume....
solid performance, consistent and very well done.

“Didn't return!”
Reviewed November 23, 2012 via mobile

This could be a great restaurant, however our food was not great. It was completely covered in salt, which made it difficult to eat. The waiter offered us alternatives, however given that more than one dish was this way, we declined. Service was good but the food lets this place down - shame

“A special night on the town.”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

We travel to Memphis frequently. I wanted to try a new restaurant and also was in search of a good steak, not just a good steak but a really good steak. I made reservations in advance. Good idea. Overall everything was awesome. Unique atmosphere, it was very busy but when you serve good food you should be busy. I guess my only negative was that I felt even with the reservation we were seated at " that table" Our steaks were phenominal!

“food just ok”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We think we could have done better for food on our trip to Memphis. The service was slow, inattentive, although, when present the waiter was nice. I think he had too many tables to keep up. The meal it self was not impressive. Filet mignon overly seasoned but cooked ok. Vegetables soaked in something that killed the taste of the vegetable. Just a too heavy a meal for our taste.

“Good fish, quiet place”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

We went there after a walk on the marvelous Beale Street, so we were looking for a bit less noise... ;)
We went on external tables for dining, good fish and excellent service, for the right price. Half an hour waiting (we went there with no reservation)
