“Mostly Excellent with a Few Disappointments”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

My husband and I spent the night in Memphis for my birthday. When we arrived in town, we hoped to stop by the hotel to check in and freshen up before our dinner reservation. Unfortunately, traffic around the hotel was horrendous (the Westin is right in the middle of ALL the downtown nightlife). I called the front desk to ask if there would be any way to park for ten minutes without having to pay $10 in the garage. He suggested that I ask the valets for help, but agreed with me that there was no good way to park, check in quickly, and leave again.

When we returned to the hotel after dinner, traffic was rerouted all around the hotel and we had to circle the hotel about six times before we finally found the entrance to the garage. My suggestion: When patrons reserve a room, include in their reservation confirmation some hints about how/where to park, especially if there is an event at the FedEx Forum.

When we finally made it to our room, we were thrilled. It was lovely and comfortable. I want to magically transport the bathroom to my own home. The robe was comfy, and the room was surprisingly quiet given the noise on the street. I slept so well that I was disappointed I couldn't spend another night. If I were to stay here again, I would make sure that there wasn't a major event happening at the same time.

Only other disappointment....my room had a coffee maker and plenty of tea. But no coffee!!!!

Great location -within walking distance of really good restaurants on Main Street and around the corner from Beale Street. The hotel had the comfortable rooms and beds that one would expect from a Westin. The front desk service was pleasant but wasn't great. The biggest issue was the noise in the rooms looking over Beale St. We were on the 7th floor and it was like being at a rock concert until 2AM each night.

Room Tip: I would not stay here unless you stay up late or are able to get a room away from Beale St.

We stayed for 4 nights recently, 10/10 -10/14.....When we arrived home the next day, we realized we were charged double!!. The card we used to hold the room was charged as well as the credit card we gave upon checking out (which we specifically said to charge for the room and any room charges) was billed also!! We called the hotel, Lynette who initially answered our call was Rude beyond belief and wouldn't help us, and immediately transferred our call to a manager named Don, whom we left Two messages for....and no return call. We then the next day left the General Manager Patrick Jordan messages, and guess what? No return call either!! Can ya say?? Never going back?? You betcha!!....P.S. Writing this on the 17th, and guess what?? Still not a call back from anyone!!

Good location and Good parking but for the carpets are really worn and somewhat stained. Staff for the most part was friendly but one individual a smaller young lady with glasses working the morning of 10/12 was rude and seemed to be put out when we checked out at 7:30am. Not so much as a "thank you" or "have a nice day". I guess me asking for a copy of our bill may have been a bit much for her. You can get a thank you or have a nice day at McDonalds without spending over $200 bucks....Not the typical Westin experience I've had in the past.

Really nice hotel. Clean, great lobby and comfortable, clean and roomy rooms. They are a block off Beale! easy to walk everywhere. Advised a tour of Memphis that picked us up in front of hotel. Clean and convenient.

if you want to visit beale street, or see an event at the big fedex forum, or watch the ducks walk at the peabody hotel, there is no better location or hotel than the Westin. EVERYTHING is within walking distance. A luxury oasis. Great staff, great rooms, we can't stop raving about this hotel..

Room Tip: aak for an upgrade to a suite, the bathrooms are HUGE
