Our server took us on a tour of the restaurant! That was the first thing she did upon our arrival and learning we were first timers. The buffet was amazing. The catfish and pulled pork was delicious. The peach cobbler and banana pudding was amazing. Great environment - great service. Saw the restaurant on Diner, Drivins and Dives so we had to check it out.

The service and food were outstanding, when you look at the building you'll be completely surprised at what you're going to experience inside.

Ribs were perfect, meaty deliciously sauced with just the slightest tug off the bone. Pulled pork sandwich was hugmongeous. Pork was lean, had a nice bark that the sauce rode well. Impressive buffet that had we succumbed to temptation would have required a wheel barrow to get me out of there. Service was agreeable and there were a lot of smiles there, working and eating.

We were looking for something to eat after arriving. Landed on Leonard's and choose to do the buffet because neither of us really wanted to look over the menu. There were a lot of options to choose from. Granted it's a buffet and we were there towards the end of the buffet time period, however the pulled pork was really dry, the chicken fried steak was swimming in gravy and the breading had separated and was freely floating in the chafing dish. The red hots were good flavored and had the consistency of summer sausage. The chicken wings were good and the hush puppies were excellent. Based on reputation and speaking with locals I would definitely try again but I would probably go with buying an entree or going on the rib day.

After several visits, we’ve tried a dozen different barbecue joints in Memphis and no question this one was, and is, the clear standout. The ribs, both wet and dry, beat all the others for thick intense bark and flavor. The catfish was a real surprise: super crispy and fresh. Sides were all good. The lemon icebox cake must be tried!! Go here!!!
