We stopped to hear the jazz group taking a break from the heat. The music was great and apps were good. We had gator bites that were just as good as what we'd just had in New Orleans.

In the midst of the barbeque joints and bars on Beale St. is the subdued, elegant, Kings Palace. It is a complete departure from the other clubs. We were seranaded by a solo act - blues guitarist-singer. The bar is classy. We had fried green tomatoes and gumbo. The tomatoes were sliced really thick, which I didn't care for so much, but the gumbo was good. For dessert, their chocolate cheesecake dessert ((I can't remember the actual name) was outstanding and HUGE. Three people could share it and have plenty. If you are looking for a more civilized place to enjoy conversation, good food and background music on Beale, make a stop here.

If you like New Orleans style food then this is the place you may want to visit! First of all they always have some type of live band rather it's jazz or blues so you will be entertained while dining! I am so in love with crab cakes since visiting Wolfgang Puck @ MGM Grand in Las Vegas and its been hard to find ant that was pleasing enough to my taste,, well this place on Beale Street has some very good crab cakes! I thoroughly enjoyed them and they have some great bread pudding as well!! Overall ita a nice spot downtown that had great food with reasonable prices!!

This is one of those old, beautiful restaurant/bars. We only had drinks there and listened to a solo artist playing guitar and singing which was very enjoyable. The bartender was very friendly and great service. Kind of wish we would have tried their menu but we had already eaten.
