“yummy yummy !!!”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

Went to Memphis for one night while traveling south. Stopped here for dinner for our first time. After walking up and down Beale street to see where we wanted to eat, the gentleman that stood out front in front of Blues City talked to us and gave us information about their menu.
Hubby and i ordered the ribs meal and beers to drink. omg.. excellent ribs. I am really not a big rib person but these were great. So good and tender that they practically fell off the bone.
The service and people working here were so nice and informative about their food and how they prepare it. I would definitely go back here again and would recommend this to everyone!!

“Great BBQ”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

Food was great, service was O.K. Seated right away, but took a while to get waited on. Food arrived very fast. Keep in mind this is a BBQ joint. No linen napkins here, no fancy decor. Very authentic feel to the place, We loved it.

“Good music and good food”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Went to Blues City Café with a group of 11 people on a Monday night. We were sat right in front of the stage up against the wall. The only problem that we had was that we were also right by the speaker. The band (the Memphis 30) was very good and played some Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis tunes. I had the fried catfish and it was very light and flaky and very good. Others in our party had the ribs and said they were very good as well. One person ordered the stuffed mushrooms and didn't like them at all. Our waiter was did a great job with a larger party and made sure we always had drinks. He did not write anything down and had no issues with our bills when we received them. My only complaint was that they added the gratuity in since we were a large party and I had not realized and tipped the waiter on top of that. I should have paid attention it was written on the menu and the receipt. It said they do it with any party of 6 or more.
